CHLT's Monthly Giving Program
Want to make a big impact by conserving and stewarding the land we love across Grand County in 2023? Become a monthly donor of CHLT!
In addition to the Granby Conservation Easement, we are working on many other conservation projects throughout the county. Every donation to the land trust is support for our work and mission:

. . . to conserve and steward the open lands and natural character of the headwaters of the Colorado River in partnership with the local community.

The Granby project is community-driven and will benefit everyone, being just a few miles from downtown Granby and along highways 40 and 34. Much of the conserved property will be open for recreation in the summer and the entire property will be closed in the winter, to support the herds of elk who overwinter in the Granby area.

With your gift, you can help Colorado Headwaters Land Trust protect spaces like the Granby Highlands Trails Easement in perpetuity, for visitors, locals, and wildlife to enjoy, forever.
OPINION: The Debate Over Land Use in the
American West

Check out the latest opinion piece in Sky-Hi News from CHLT's Executive Director!

This essay discusses the debate over land use in the American West, as the inclusion of conservation as an equivalent land use to extraction and recreation can help us maintain the land mechanism that has kept us on this track of growth and development for so long.
