January 2024

Principal Message

Families,

Happy New Year! .

We welcomed students back to school on Tuesday to kick off 2024.  Throughout the school, teachers and students took the time to reground and refocus on classroom and school routines and expectations.  At CGS, we continue to focus on the importance of safety, both physical and emotional while at school. We continue to strive to ensure that students at Cottage Grove School feel safe, seen, and celebrated as they continue to grow academically.   We will dive right back into our curriculums this week and continue to watch our young scholars grow.

Each month, our students are participating in “The Great Wolfie Challenge”.  Hopefully your students have shared the great fun that they’ve had through these challenges, and the fun school-wide assemblies we’ve had to celebrate their accomplishments.  This month, our challenge will focus on working together to improve in some of the very important school routines we have at school.

Please remember to ensure your student is coming to school with adequate warm clothes as the winter weather becomes more prevalent in January.  Students must have snow gear (boots, snow pants, gloves, etc.) to play in the snow when it arrives.  If you need any assistance in obtaining these items, please reach out to us and we will help provide your student with what they need.

Looking forward to a great 2024 at Cottage Grove School!

Thanks,

Jesse Starr
