FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members and friends,                                                                

I am so excited to serve as the GFWC California Federation of Women’s Clubs 68th President! The theme I have selected for the next two years is “Ignite Your Volunteer Spirit”! My hope is that our members will embrace and get excited about volunteering and that their enthusiasm will spread throughout the California Federation of Women’s Clubs. I am looking forward to working with you as we continue to make a difference in our communities and beyond!

Civic Engagement and Outreach is my special focus emphasizing our Military Personnel and Veterans. Please help me to support the Military through the many areas of need and enrichment.

The CFWC July Executive Summer Board Meeting will be held at the Ontario Airport Hotel and Conference Center on July 11 – 14, 2024. I hope that you will be able to join us as we come together and learn from the Area District Presidents of their plans and goals for the new Administration. The Area Meetings are open to all members attending and we look forward to seeing you! If you have never attended a CFWC State Board Meeting before, make this your “First”! Cindy Sanders, the CFWC 2nd Vice President, and the CFWC Area Vice Presidents are looking forward to recognizing you at the July Board as “1st Timers” with a special item thanking you for attending. Thank you for all you do to make our Federation strong and please remember to say “YES” to moving forward on Federation’s Trail!

LEADERSHIP - VICKI HOLDEN, Chair

As we prepare and plan for the coming year in this administration, we’ll be asked to speak to a group to present a project idea, a goal or report on what’s been accomplished to date. Are you uneasy about doing this? If you don’t mind a bit of multi-tasking, we’ve got something to help. The multi-tasking part is that it requires some reading, so why not read to improve your leadership skills AND include it in your ESO reading?

It's not a summer romance or a murder mystery, it’s a book by John C. Maxwell “Everyone Communicates, Few Connect”. Relax, it’s easy reading and gives quite a few ideas for helping each of us improve our communication skills. Let me know how it goes.

We are still looking for the names and contact information for our District Leadership Chairs for 2024-2026.   If you’ve been appointed to that position, we congratulate you and look forward to meeting you. Just a quick reminder, you are invited to join us the First Saturday morning of the month for a meeting on ZOOM   Details will be sent to you upon receipt of your information.
