Zoom Webinar
The most recent version of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) was released by CFA Institute on June 30, 2019. The GIPS standards have been adopted by approximately 1,800 organizations in over 48 markets around the world and have been updated to enhance their application to all asset classes, including alternative investment strategies, to better address pooled funds and to consolidate guidance issued since the 2010 version was released. Given the importance of the GIPS standards to market integrity, many organizations in the investment industry, including asset owners, asset managers, consultants, regulators, law firms, recordkeepers, software providers, consultants, and accounting firms, should be interested in learning about the 2020 GIPS standards. This Webinar will be led by Ken Robinson, CFA, CIPM, CPA, PFS, who is the Director of Global Industry Standards for CFA Institute, and Ivana Bertuzzelli, CIPM, who is the Vice President of Portfolio Analytics for Intech Investment Management LLC. Register here. The Zoom link will be provided to registrants on September 7.

CFA Society Idaho will again be inviting colleges from across Idaho to participate in the 2022 Research Challenge in February. CFA Institute has announced plans to return to an in-person Regional and Global Research Challenge event, and we look forward to sending a team from one of our local colleges to New York City to compete against teams from across the country. Teams prepare a written recommendation and an oral presentation, and both help prepare them for a career in investment analysis. We need some help to have a great event, so please consider being a judge or mentor!
Either position is a great way to give back to the organization – and, more importantly, an opportunity to teach college finance/accounting students the science and art of writing a well thought-out research report and assisting them in delivering a dynamite presentation. Previous mentors have indicated that they felt they got as much or more out of the experience than the students they were mentoring.
Neither takes a whole bunch of your time (we estimate no more than 6 hours over a 4-month window of time). Please consider making an impact and passing on your insights to the next generation. We thank you in advance for your consideration and willingness to step-up.
