Stay Connected. We're advocating for you!

North San Antonio Chamber Members and Partners,
We are almost there . . . Let's begin to say farewell to an extraordinarily difficult year by continuing to focus on what's important this holiday season by staying safe and healthy; spending quality time with our families; supporting our communities and those in need; and contributing to our economic recovery by supporting businesses that also help to create and grow jobs.
Our North SA Chamber team is helping to bring holiday cheer to the children of Haven for Hope with a Toy Drive Drop-Off! We've been collecting toys all week, we encourage our members and partners to join in. Come by our office at 12930 Country Parkway, San Antonio to drop off unwrapped toys in our foyer by CoB, Monday, December 14. Toys will be delivered to Haven of Hope next week in time for gifts to be wrapped and distributed for Christmas.
Also, I want to encourage you to shop local and support our small businesses, especially our struggling restaurants. You can do this in a couple of ways. First, safely patronize your favorite restaurants through on-site/outdoor dining, curbside pick-up, and/or delivery. Who knows, you may even find some new favorites!
There are so many ways that restaurants contribute to our economy. Manufacturing, agriculture, jobs, and so much more are dependent on the survival of our restaurants. We have a few days left of the 116th Congress and the start of a new Congress on January 1. Another way to help now is to take just a couple of minutes to sign on to the National Restaurant Association electronic letter to Congress. The North San Antonio Chamber is and will be working closely with our industry partners to advocate on behalf of our Members and business community in this industry at the national level and the upcoming 87th Texas Legislative Session.
What I’m looking at this week:
Stay safe, healthy, and protect yourself and those in the community - please wear your mask.
Sincerely,
|

December 1 | Metro Health Issues New Health Recommendations Regarding Indoor Dining and Gatherings
Bexar County Health Authority issued a health directive that recommends against dining and gathering indoors with people who you do not live with to decrease the spread of COVID-19. The new health alert includes two recommendations for the public:
-
Recommendation Against Indoor Dining with People Outside One’s Household. Avoid dining indoors with anybody you don’t live with. Respiratory droplets occasionally travel beyond 6 feet. Correct and consistent masking, which mitigates this risk, is not possible while eating or drinking. Restaurants can support public health by switching from indoor dining to exclusively outdoor dining and take-out service. In the workplace, employees can take breaks and meals in separate spaces or are encouraged to go outdoors.
-
Recommendation Against Gathering Indoors with People Outside One’s Household. Avoid gathering indoors with people you don’t live with. The more people, the greater the risk. Yelling, singing, and forceful exhalations (such as from vigorous exercise) increase risk. Physical distancing, good ventilation and correct, consist use of a 3-layer mask that covers both the nose and mouth will decrease risk. Read More.
