SUMMER HUNGER DOESN’T TAKE A VACATION
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers persistently strive to combat hunger and offer pathways to empowerment, enabling our clients to progress towards self-reliance. The CEC diligently caters to the needs of individuals and families by providing a spectrum of social services spanning educational support, vocational training, and the distribution of essential resources.
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our community programs, and this spring, we were fortunate to have several volunteers join us through Hands on Broward, both individuals and businesses alike. Fridays are particularly bustling as we diligently prepare food boxes for clients of Memorial Healthcare System, and our on-site drive-through pantry continues to provide essential support to those in need.
At our organization, we place a high value on the significant contributions made by our volunteers, recognizing their indispensable role in the overall success of our operations. Each on-site food distribution event exemplifies a remarkable collaboration that embodies the true essence of community spirit.
The CEC staff and board members provide critical social services to individuals and families, encompassing educational support, vocational training, and the distribution of essential needs. Our community programs rely significantly on the dedication of volunteers. During this spring and summer, we've welcomed volunteers from Hands-on Broward, and Volunteer Match, as well as individuals, businesses, and organizations who generously contribute their time and effort.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to these two brothers for their unwavering commitment to our cause and for the thoughtful gestures that brightened our days, such as sharing donuts with fellow volunteers. Though they may no longer be with us daily, they will remain part of our volunteer family forever. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and hope their journey continues to be as impactful as their time with us
Here's what we've been working on lately...

We are thrilled at the progress of our storage warehouse. Thanks to the Jim Moran Foundation and the unwavering support of MHS, staff, and the CHG Healthcare volunteers. This new location will allow us to further our mission and reach even more individuals in need within our community. We are grateful for this blessing and excited for the future growth and impact of CEC.

In continuation of the previous newsletter, CEC continues its monthly initiative with an average of two mobile food pantries across Broward County, offering nutritious fruits, vegetables, and essential pantry staples such as rice, milk, and eggs to 125 families with children. Our mobile pantry visited six locations this quarter, including Hollywood, Hallandale, Dania Beach, Miramar, and West Park, assisting over 750 individuals. The success of CEC's efforts is attributed to our dedicated volunteers, whose contributions are essential, alongside numerous other programs to tackle food insecurity and support our community members in times of need.
