Academic Achievement in Service Learning Excellence Award

Leona H. won the Academic Achievement in Service Learning Excellence Award from Arapahoe Community College and was honored at the 2023-24 Student Awards Ceremony on April 12!

She was 1 of only 28 students who received an award this school year. And, Leona was 1 of 5 to win a Service Learning Excellence award! Her Business teacher, Kira James, said this about her work in the BUS 1015 class and with the Service Learning component of the class:

"Leona learned more about herself by expanding her interest in botany to incorporate business goals and she also gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of urban food deserts. In addition, Leona stepped outside of her comfort zone to establish a professional connection with Denver Urban Gardens (DUG). Her efforts created a positive image for students in her age group and also for her school."

Congratulations, Leona!

Lockdown Drill

CECP will be conducting a LOCKDOWN DRILL on Friday, April 26 at approximately 1:15pm. Student and Staff safety is extremely important to us, so it is imperative that we prepare and practice for many situations. This drill should take approximately 30 minutes. Students will not be allowed to leave school during this drill so please plan accordingly.
