Dean's List

Full-time students with a 3.80 unweighted semester GPA, or above, at the end of each semester will be placed on the Dean’s list. Honoring students by unweighted GPA recognizes students’ excellence in their classes wherever they are, whether they are in high school or college classes. Eligible students must be full time and enrolled in at least 4 classes (defined as 4 high school classes, 4 college classes, or any combination) OR be enrolled in at least 10 college credits. Eligible students must have a 3.80 unweighted GPA (we do not round up), must pass all classes (no failing grades or incompletes- even if they are not GPA weighted) and have no behavioral or academic integrity violations.

Students of the Month

Cadence works really hard and is doing super well in class. She is positive, bright, kind, and helpful to other students. She is a super-star! Cadence can apply her art skills in creative ways in all of her classes. Congratulations Cadence!

Staff Spotlight

Hi, I’m Julie Bammert and I am the Special Education teacher here at CEC Inverness. I retired from the Cherry Creek Schools after 23 years of teaching. After 2 years of retirement, I realized I had much more to offer and came to CECI. I am married to my husband Ralph, who is a retired Federal agent and currently works as a contract agent for the Federal government. We have been married for 36 years. We have two grown sons, Ryan, who is a firefighter/paramedic, and Tyler, who is a doctor working with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. I love working here because of the caring staff and great students.

I got my start in education as a substitute teacher at DSST, the Park Hill neighborhood of Denver. Since then, I have had the pleasure of working with a diversity of students ranging in age from 7 years old to 70 years old. I have also taught in a variety of locations including Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Harlem, New York City. Most recently I was one of four visual art teachers at North High School, where I taught for just under five years.

I have practiced visual art for most of my life. I earned my BFA from MSU Denver and my MFA from LSU in Louisiana. Some highlights from my educational adventures include a two-month residency in the Amazon of Peru, and studying painting in Florence, Italy, and New York City. I enjoy looking at, talking about, and making paintings and drawings. But I also love to cook and eat delicious food, watch movies with my wife and daughter, work out and meditate. I’m excited to be part of the CEC community and to bring my passion for the arts to these wonderful students.

ROAR College Admissions CASE STUDY

What is a ROAR case study?

A case study is designed to put students and families in the admissions’ counselor’s role and review three fictitious applications. This event is interactive and engaging--you'll review sample college applications and then debate with fellow participants on why the applicant should be accepted, declined or waitlisted. The college admissions panel will then tell you if the sample applicant would have been accepted to their colleges.

Why should I attend?

Students and parents will benefit by learning what students can do early on in their high school career, such as extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and community service, to make them competitive applicants to colleges and for merit-based scholarships. Participants will also learn the secrets behind college admissions processes from current college admissions representatives.

When: Tuesday, March 12, 2024, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Where: CEC-Inverness 321 Inverness Dr. South, Englewood, CO 80112

 Register Here by March 5th!

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
