Safe Haven Program

As of July 2023, the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCDPB) developed a safe haven program for all licensees and certificate holders. This is a confidential path for individuals to seek help for burnout, mental health, or substance use disorders and a therapeutic alternative to Board action impacting the license or certificate.

The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board has partnered with the Ohio Professionals Health Program (OhioPHP) to administer the safe haven program. OhioPHP is a nonprofit organization that provides confidential and compassionate support for healthcare professionals with illnesses that may impact their health and well-being.

Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the OCDPB’s safe haven program. More information is available by visiting www.ohiophp.org to learn more and connect with resources.
