On April 27, Governor Chris Christie addressed 250 members of the CCSNJ at a luncheon meeting at the Crowne Plaza. This was the third visit Governor Christie has made to our organization since taking office in 2010.

On April 29, CCSNJ held the second installment of its Make New Jersey Competitive series, this time focusing on the Future of Health Care. Several key players in New Jersey's health care industry came together to discuss growing trends in the field and to provide a forecast for the impact of these trends in the future.

Defend Trade Secrets Act 2016:
What Employers Need to Know

The Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 (DTSA) was passed by Congress at the end of April 2016 and signed by President Obama on May 11, 2016. Effective May 12, 2016, the DTSA adds to employers' arsenal new weapons to fight against the dissemination of their trade secrets. However, in order to use those weapons, the DTSA now requires employers to provide its employees and independent contractors with notice of newly created whistleblower immunities.
