FTC votes to ban noncompetes, with far-reaching effects on doctors: “The FTC estimates the final rule would lower healthcare costs by $194 billion over the next decade, while freeing up physicians to more easily move between employers. The (FTC) voted to ban noncompete agreements on Tuesday (4/23), obviating the restrictive agreements that lock in physicians — and the patients they treat — with their existing employer.” - Healthcare Dive


Florida launches Baker Act dashboard to improve mental healthcare: “The Florida Department of Children and Families launched a first-of-its-kind dashboard showing data on people admitted for mental health services under the Baker Act. The dashboard shows more than 87,000 people across Florida have gone through mental health evaluations since July 1.” - ABC 20

FMA Annual Meeting

CCMS Members: Request for Resolutions for FMA Annual Meeting


The Florida Medical Association 2024 Annual Meeting is August 2-4 in Orlando. Business is introduced into the House of Delegates through the presentation of resolutions by voting Delegates on behalf of their county or specialty medical society, special sections, or as individual Delegates.


To submit resolution proposals to the CCMS board for county sponsorship, follow the example and email your resolution to CCMS by Wednesday, May 8th. For tips on writing a resolution, refer to pages 6-8 of the Procedures of the House of Delegates.
