Orleton Driving Show

August 8, 9, 10, 11

Hi All,

August is here and so is our show--Next Week! We always need volunteers!!! it's never too late to check in with Laurie to see what we need. We always feed you and we have entertainment at night. Contact her: lbdanaher@yahoo.com 518-466-3608 if you can spend some time. It can be a few hours, a whole day, or multiple days. Whatever time you can spare.

The Orleton Farm Pleasure Driving Show is a judged competition for horse-drawn vehicles. Stroll the beautiful grounds and watch the driving competition. Pack a picnic lunch or purchase food there. It will be a great way to spend a day with the whole family! No dogs, please.

The Horse Power Meets Horsepower Vintage Car Show is an historically popular event at Sunday's show. Spread the word to your friends! It's an opportunity not to be missed, with various modes of transportation on display in one venue. If you know an owner of 1980 and earlier car or truck, encourage them to participate.

The July 24th meeting was once again a delicious potluck affair. The next meeting will be August 21st 6:30.

See you all at the show!

In Memoriam...

Jeannette Rotondo

86, of Lee, passed away at home on Sunday, July 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Jeannette was born in Pittsfield, on June 7, 1938, to Roger Besaw and Yvonne Gendron Besaw (both deceased) and is most remembered for her love of horses.

Jeannette’s many accomplishments included helping to organize the Colonial Carriage and Driving Society in Berkshire County and participating on the founding committee that organized the first Tub Parade. She also held numerous roles with the Farm Bureau, including serving as the membership committee secretary for the Equine Committee. Throughout her life, she was instrumental in helping others learn to ride and often passed on her passion for animals in the process.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Jeannette later this fall.
