I want to thank all who presented entries for this year’s Builders' Showcase of Homes and congratulate the ACE Award Winners and our 2020 Contractor of the Year Don Koogler of Koogler Homes. Great job for all the hard work and the fantastic workmanship shown this year. I am honored for a second time to serve as your 2020 CCCIA President and will continue to work very hard in helping move our industry forward. We have some new faces and a great Board of Directors and would like to welcome Melanie Williamson as your Vice President and incoming 2021 President. The CCCIA’s Staff lead by a very committed Executive Director with Bill Johnson Jr. of whom are all extremely motivated and excited about for the year ahead.
The year ahead brings with it a chance to work with our recently appointed Building Official (Stephen Poposki.)
For those of you who have not yet had the pleasure of working with Steve, I have found him to be very approachable, motivated and a good fit not only for the City but very interested and involved in our organization and Industry.
The 2020 calendar year is already showing signs of another outstanding year for our industry. The CCCIA still has a few carry over items to resolve with the City and some new issues coming to light. One such item recently resolved by our industries involvement was the “Binding Interpretation for Fall Protection” effecting many of our Home Builders. We wish to extend a big “Thank You” to our Immediate Past President Ed Ramos and our Code and Ordinance Committee Chaired by Jim Aubuchon for the research and preparing the documentation for the State of Florida. We still have much more to do and we will be looking to our membership for chair and committee seats as we plan to resolve the issues ahead.
The items above only touch base on the many things we have planned for this year. I am very much looking forward to working with you all in 2020 and all the years to come.
