Looking for a map of the current landscape of political leadership for Black women in the U.S. - across the country and across levels of office? A comprehensive new report,
Voices. Votes. Leadership. The Status of Black Women in American Politics 2015
, provides an historical outline of Black women's struggle for political representation and summarizes the outlook for Black women's participation in the 2016 elections. Written by CAWP scholar Dr. Kelly Dittmar and released by the Higher Heights Leadership Fund, it stresses the need for greater engagement, recruitment, and inclusion of Black women in politics and government. Dittmar and Higher Heights co-founder and managing director Glynda Carr marked the occasion of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm's 91st birthday by highlighting report findings in a

Where will voters land?
A survey conducted by the College Republican National Committee and reported in
USA Today
finds that conservative Millennials favor presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, while a
Fox Business
story asks whether Hillary Clinton has the women's vote locked up. Intriguingly,
Glamour News
reveals that since FDR took office in 1933, only one President (Eisenhower) has been elected who did not have a daughter or daughters. All of this year's candidates qualify on that score except Ben Carson.
