Dear Friend,

On Monday June 24th, 112 golfers gathered for our 2024 Golf for a Child Invitational at Kemper Lakes Golf Club. Our 24th annual event, it has been a great opportunity to gather together to raise awareness about CASA's work and raise funds to support the recruiting, training, and supervision of CASA volunteers who support children in foster care in Lake County, IL.

We're grateful to everyone who joined us and especially to our event sponsors. Thank you to Wells Fargo Advisors and Cooper-Meyer Wealth Management Group, Intel, ITW, Judi Duchossois, Fortinet, Druva, Climb Channel Solutions with Freshworks and Delinea, HP, Schneider Electric, Durable Packaging International, Pimco, and Jack and Donna Greenberg. Thank you also to our Golf Cart Sponsor Neal & McDevitt. It was a great day on the golf course and with everyone's support, the event raised about $100,000 for our CASA program!

This year we were so lucky to have special guest Sanaii -- former CASA youth and one of our interns this summer -- be able to share her story and her gratitude for having had the support of her CASA volunteers while she was navigating the foster care system. Because of the support we recieved this year, 40 additional Lake County children will have the support of a dedicated CASA Advocate, like Sanaii did -- throughout the next year.

With Gratitude,

P.S. If you missed our golf outing but would like to join our next event, keep an eye out for more information about our Gala on September 27th!

Thank You to the Starbucks Foundation

We'd like to thank The Starbucks Foundation for the recent $2,000 grant which we were nominated for by our partners at Libertyville Starbucks to recieve through the Starbucks Neighborhood Grants program.

Every year for over 11 years, the Libertyville Starbucks store and now 30 other Starbucks stores hosts a holiday giving tree donation drive to support CASA Lake County. With this partnership, we see the community show up in major ways -- donating gift cards, clothes, boots, coats, toys, and other items for the children in foster care in Lake County that we support at CASA. We're so grateful for their continued partnership both in the holiday givign drive, and in nominating us for this grant!

Kudos for Some Amazing CASA Volunteers!

To CASAs Mary and Lisa who have continued to be a constant in the lives of their five CASA children in three different homes. Each child has their own needs which has required individual time with the CASA’s. They have followed the children to the various schools and assisted in behavior related instances. The children are always excited to see the CASAs.

To CASA Christine who has just accepted her eighth CASA case with two children. She has been a CASA since 2017 and her commitment to CASA has been exemplary. We are so grateful that she so generously gives her time to advocate for children and that these children will benefit from her excellent advocacy.

To CASA Kathy for her commitment to her CASA case, as she began advocating for a newborn sibling of her two CASA children and helped the new foster mother obtain needed items for the baby. Kathy has continued to visit the other two children in a different placement than the baby, and she is looking forward to their adoption in the upcoming months.
