Abstract:
Determining what constitutes methodological rigor is a pre-requisite to doing rigorous review articles. In this webcast, I present a framework for understanding and evaluating the key components of methodological rigor across review types. The underlying premise is that even as methodological rigor can differ from one review type to another, achieving a high degree of alignment among the review type, purpose, and systematicity is the essential foundation. I elaborate upon that premise and conclude with some practical suggestions for conducting rigorous reviews. Researchers preparing or interested in preparing review articles and evaluators and readers of review articles might find the webcast informative and valuable.
