Thank You
CAREERS received the Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta that will assist in building capacity to better serve rural communities in Southwest Alberta.

"We were so excited and thankful to Community Foundation Lethbridge and SW Alberta, their board of directors and selection committee for the Henry S. Varley Grant for Rural Life. We are eager to dedicate more time to making a greater impact and enhancing rural communities in the southwest. We hope to set up 100 work integrated learning placements for rural youth this year! This will include growing internships in the agricultural sector to 10% of all placements within CAREERS."

Saroeun Keuth-Ray, South Regional Manager

We are grateful to be given this opportunity to better serve the community.

Skilled Trades Youth Ambassadors
Established in May 2024 under the Government Organization Act, this program provides a unique and direct pathway for collaboration between Alberta’s government and young adult apprentices. The Skilled Trades Youth Ambassadors, a diverse group of 12 individuals aged 18 to 31, will serve on an advisory council for a term of 6 months.
This council is designed to better inform government decisions by identifying challenges and opportunities for Alberta’s youth in skilled trades. The ambassadors will play a crucial role in supporting the Minister of Advanced Education in championing skilled trades and apprenticeships.
We are excited to see the positive impact this program will have on shaping the future of skilled trades in Alberta!
Congratulations at Skills!
Congratulations to Jacob McClelland for winning gold in the Alberta Skills Competition. He participated in the Quebec Skills Competition for Nationals representing Alberta. You may recognize him as we placed him last year with Fidelity Manufacturing!
