Happy Community Action Month! Each May, our organization celebrates the tremendous work of our agency locally, as well as the efforts of our greater community action network encompassing over 1,000 agencies across the United States.

May also marks the start of our annual Backpacks for Success campaign. As you continue reading, you will find details on how you can support our initiative to ensure every student feels confident walking into a new classroom this Fall.

Whether it's making a monetary donation or donating your time, I encourage you to get involved this Summer. As families continue to face financial hardship, your support and engagement is pivotal. Support a student's academic success this fall with Backpacks for Success!

Through generous donations, Backpacks for Success provides youth with fully stocked backpacks to ensure each student has the resources they need to reach their academic goals.

Join us in empowering students by making a contribution to Backpacks for Success today!

Thanks to the support of a generous donor, all donations up to $10,000 will be matched this year meaning each $30 donation can now provide 2 students with the essential tools they need to feel confident in the classroom.

On May 11, the OC Food Bank took part in the National Association of Letter Carriers' (NALC) annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, collecting an incredible 173,455 pounds of food!

This one-day event marks the largest single-day food drive in the nation, benefitting local food banks across the country. We are thrilled to be a recipient of this initiative and are grateful to every letter carrier who collected donations over the weekend.

Thank you to all of our partners, volunteers, and team members who lent a hand during this event. This significant donation will help sustain Orange County families throughout the Summer.

The OC Food Bank has been active with volunteers this Spring, including a recent visit from the US Bank Private Wealth Management team.

Throughout the morning, volunteers helped prepare boxes for our Senior Food Box program to be distributed to our senior population.

Working together, the team packed over 8,000 pounds of food, filling 11 pallets!
