Announcing $200,000 distributed

through CAP for local arts!

Artists, organizations, towns and villages in Tompkins County received 75 grants totaling $200,000 for 2024 arts and cultural programs.

The Community Arts Partnership, with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA,) is pleased to announce recipients of our 2024 NYSCA Statewide Community Regrant (SCR) program for three of our grants: “Grants for Arts Programs," the “Artist in Community Grant,” and the “Arts Education” K-12 grants.

To see a list of all 2024 awardees, visit our Recent Grantee Page

SCR is made possible by NYSCA to many New York counties with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

This unprecedented amount of funding is the largest in our community's NYSCA regrant history and represents a continued investment in artists and the greater community.

These grants fulfill a vital mission of the Community Arts Partnership for making arts and culture accessible to all and for cultivating a creative culture that reflects our community's diversity.

“By ensuring that state arts and culture funding strategically reaches our communities, the Community Arts Partnership provides vital support for New York State’s creative sector,” said Erika Mallin, NYSCA Executive Director.

“NYSCA is a proud supporter of CAP and this unprecedented level of regrant funding for Tompkins County organizations and artists. Congratulations to all the grantees, we look forward to watching your creative and innovative projects flourish in the coming year.”

CAP has administered the distribution of over $6.8 million through multiple regrant programs over the past 30 years!

2025 SCR grants guidelines will be available in the fall with deadlines in January. Visit our Grant page for more information.

Safara Vache, Girl Embellish

This exhibit by I.C. student Safara Vache is rooted in the practice of remaking and dress up and examines what women aren't allowed to be by playfully and emotionally leaning into characters and vocations we ascribe to them such as a housewife, a bride, etc. Safara's work navigates both girlhood and womanhood through nostalgia and identity.

The CAP ArtSpace is located at 110 N. Tioga Street, on the Commons, in the Tompkins Center for History and Culture. Also home to the Downtown Visitor Center and the History Center in Tompkins County!
