FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Natomas Arena Boulevard On-ramp Scheduled for Closure

On-ramp to Southbound I-5 Closed for Seven Days

SACRAMENTO COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists that traffic-interfering work is scheduled to close the eastbound Arena Boulevard loop on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) beginning Thursday night for realignment, widening and paving work.

The work is scheduled for seven days beginning 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18 through 8 p.m. Thursday, July 25. No two consecutive ramps will be closed concurrently. The extended closure is necessary for worker and motorists’ safety.

LOCATION:

  •  Eastbound Arena Boulevard slip on-ramp to I-5 southbound (Los Angeles) in North Natomas.

DETOUR:

  •  Motorists can continue eastbound to East Commerce Way and make a U-turn at the stoplight to use the westbound Arena Boulevard loop on-ramp to southbound I-5 (Los Angeles).

  • Motorists can also avoid Arena Boulevard and use the Del Paso Road on-ramps as an alternate route for southbound I-5.

Nearby residents should expect to hear loud, intermittent noises from heavy construction equipment, including vehicle back-up warning alarms.

The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety. For more information on each project visit Caltrans District 3 Current Projects. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
