ROSEVILLE – Caltrans is alerting motorists about an upcoming 55-hour closure of the Douglas Boulevard off-ramp on westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) as part of the $46.1 million Auxiliary Lane and Fifth Lane Project.
The off-ramp is scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, August 16 to 5 a.m. Monday, August 19. Motorists looking to exit Douglas Boulevard will detour westbound on I-80 to the Riverside Avenue exit. At the stoplight, make a left and then take another left onto the I-80 eastbound on-ramp, where they will be able to head back to the Douglas Boulevard exit.
Crews will be excavating the roadway, installing new lighting and repaving the ramp to accommodate the new fifth lane during the ramp closure.
Ghilotti Construction Company, Inc. of Santa Rosa is the prime contractor. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2025. At that time, the interstate will have an auxiliary lane on eastbound I-80 between State Route 65 and Rocklin Road and include a two-lane off-ramp. A fifth lane will be constructed on westbound I-80 between Douglas Boulevard and Riverside Avenue and include reconfiguring the Douglas off-ramp from two lanes to one lane.
