2024 COLEGAS Annual Conference 

Call for Proposals: Due May 31, 2024

COLEGAS is now accepting presentation proposals for our 3nd Annual Conference, November 4-6, 2024 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, California. 

COLEGAS Mission: COLEGAS will develop, elevate, and increase leadership from our comunidad Latina throughout higher education using liberatory practices.

In the face of systemic oppression, this year’s theme "Collective Resistance: Justicia y Liberación ”, calls on us to unite as a comunidad to challenge inequity, advocate for justice and strive for liberation. From higher education to grassroots movements, we strive to work together to dismantle oppressive systems and foster liberation for all.  

We welcome proposal submissions from faculty, classified professionals and administrators in the CCCs, system partners, practitioners, researchers, and community members that align with the conference's topic goals.

Please note: Workshop presenters must be registered conference participants.

COLEGAS is focused on providing a Latina/o/x affirming space for CCC professionals to build community, share emerging practices, and exchange resources in the service of Latina/o/x students and their communities. 

Conference Strands aligned with our Learning Goals

* Decolonizing Education in service to Latinx Students and Educators

* Mobilizing la comunidad Latina for Political Change

* Embracing el Poder del Art as a Tool for Social Change

We are also collecting proposals for our PreConference Strand:

  *Undocumented Professionals 

Workshop Length: 60 minutes

Conference Dates: November 4-6, 2024

Conference Timeline: Proposals due by May 31, 2024

* Proposal notifications will be sent out July 15, 2024

* Presenters confirm participation by August 15, 2024
