CALL FOR 
NATIVE AMERICAN ARTISTS

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The American Indian Institute at the University of Okahoma is pleased to announce a new 'CALL FOR ARTISTS' for our upcoming conferences. Throughout the last 60 years, we've had the opportunity to feature and work with many talented Native American artists from across Indian Country. We are now searching for feature artwork for two national conferences: the 16th Native Diabetes Prevention Conference and the 13th Native Women & Men's Wellness Conference.
 
Submissions will be reviewed by advisory teams and finalists will be contacted by the American Indian Institute. 
 
Selected artists will receive the following:
  • $400 Honorarium Fee 
  • Three nights in conference hotel:
    • 16th Native Diabetes Prevention Conference will be held in Phoenix, AZ, in late January 2014. 
    • 13th Native Women & Men's Wellness Conference will be held at the Town & Country Hotel Resort in San Diego, CA, March 16-19, 2014.
  • Complimentary exhibitor booth during conference 
*Selected artist(s) will be required to sign a contract with the American Indian Instiute permitting the use of their artwork on all promotional and conference materials. The artist will maintain ownership of their artwork throughout the duration of the contract.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA

 

Entry is FREE and all Native American artists are welcome to apply. To enter, please submit a high resolution image of your artwork by email. Include the title of the piece, full name of artist, tribal affiliation, and contact information. We highly recommend including an artist bio or statement, but this is not required. The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 21, 2013.
