Leveraging Enterprise Agility in the Addiction Treatment Field

By Dr. Nola Veazie

CEO, V-Solutions Consulting

The addiction treatment field faces dynamic challenges that require adaptive and responsive approaches. With the rising complexity of addiction issues and the rapid evolution of treatment methodologies, leveraging enterprise agility can significantly enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of addiction services, especially treatment for clients with co-occurring disorders. Enterprise agility, traditionally a concept rooted in the tech and business sectors, refers to an organization's ability to rapidly adapt to market changes, respond to emerging opportunities, and innovate continuously. Integrating these principles into the addiction field can drive substantial improvements in patient outcomes and organizational performance.

This book outlines the 12-core functions and 46 global criteria, ethics, addiction models, counseling theories, co-occurring disorders, medication class and the effects of psychoactive drugs on the central nervous system in an innovative way. This book uses learning styles (auditory, visual, kinesthetic) to craft the best way to present information for different learners.

Q & A with Shamra Butler, Registrant Liaison

What is the Registrant Liaison Program?

Shamra: The program is designed to help all CADTP Registrants overcome barriers they are having with their certification journey by providing support and services needed to achieve certification.

What services does the Registrant Liaison Program offer to CADTP Registered Counselors?

Shamra: Services include support, guidance, financial scholarships if qualified, collaboration with SUD educators to help registrants complete their required education, test prep materials, test prep classes, support with renewals, hardships, and CEU issues.

Tell me about the financial help available through this new program?

Shamra: Financial support may include application fees paid, education costs, test prep materials, and classes.

Since launching the program on May 1, 2024, what have you noticed as the major roadblocks for Registered Counselors who are working to become certified?

Shamra: Major barriers are by far the fees to become certified. This is an issue with almost all counselors I speak with. Feeling unprepared to take the certification exam, which includes test prep materials, how to study, what to study, and test prep classes are the next barrier.

Can ALL SUD Counselors in California participate in the Registrant Liaison Program?

Shamra: The program is designed and funded for CADTP registrants only. You must have a CADTP SUDRC number. If expired, the program can help to bring registration current.

What are the benefits of being a Certified SUD Counselor?

Shamra: Certification allows a counselor to increase their salary, become a supervisor, mentor, and supervise registered counselors.

What advice do you have for Registered SUD Counselors who are seeking certification?

Shamra: Being a SUDRC, any registrant seeking certification should meet with me. Sometimes maneuvering the process of becoming certified can be daunting. We can assess where they are at, explore financial scholarship opportunities, and make a custom-designed plan for their journey.
