Pet Portraits are back! With an extra weekend!

Volunteer Opportunities below!

CA Humane is Currently in need of volunteers for:

Holiday Pet Portraits:

We will need 3 volunteers per shift time for the shift times below. 1 Greeter, 1 Raffle/Greeter Assistance, and 1 Runner. Please use the button below to email Amber with your desired shift(s)!

Saturday, November 4th:

Shift 2: 2:30pm-7:00pm

Friday, November 10th:

Shift 2: 6:30pm-9:00pm

Bower Mall Charity Shopping Event:

We will require 8-12 volunteers to assist with selling drink tickets and giving out complimentary drinks. This event is on November 19th, 2023 and will run from 6:30pm-10:00pm. We ask that volunteers arrive by 6:15pm and stay until 10pm.

$2 from every drink sold will go to CA Humane! Please email Amber if you are interested in assisting with this event!

Gift Wrapping - Bower Mall:

CA Humane will be participating in Bower Malls charity gift wrapping booth! We do not have set dates yet but are looking for interested parties to wrap presents to raise money for CA Humane. Please email Amber if you are interested! This will run from late November to Christmas Eve.

Seasonal Gift baskets for all your fur-children in your life will be available starting November 2nd. These will range in price from $25.00 - $50.00 and are in limited supply.

Did you know CA Humane offers

Medical Foster Needed!

We are looking for a medical foster for a 4-month-old border collie pup that is in care that will be having surgery the first week of November. He will be having his front leg amputated due to a congenital anomaly and will need time outside of the shelter to heal/get some extra love and attention.

That being said we are looking for a foster that has no other dogs in the home. That can help him recover for a 2-week period. We will need the foster to be available from November 10th till November 24th (ish).

November Volunteer of the Month!

Maurice Loiselle

Maurice is retired and was in need of something worthwhile to do. He has had many dogs in his life and loves being around them. He started volunteering a couple years ago at our Annual Garage Sales. At this year’s sale Maurice says he had so much fun and met so many CA Humane Staff.

”It felt like I could/should do more. So, while thinking about this, one day the call came in for help in the laundry room. That particular day I had nothing to do so I went in and got my laundry room training. Surprise, surprise I found I liked doing the laundry (I know there must be something wrong with me…lol) and have been coming in regularly on Mondays. I like getting in some dog time between loads. I have started my journey to becoming a dog walker and I am looking forward to the day when I can go out alone.”

Thank you for your dedication and for your help with our ever-growing laundry pile! Maurice has been amazing to have in shelter and at our garage sales. He made quick friends with our staff and we enjoy seeing him on Mondays.
