Dear Ones,

Convention- You can't celebrate the 100th without the 1! District I is hosting and we need lots of help.

A) Registration is now on the FFGC.ORG website. There's a whole page about Convention from the Members Only Art Show, to the Flower Show and the Distinguished Speakers.

B) After you register and have your carpool buddies ready, please volunteer to help with Dolores Quigley by March 15th. Light duty, easy stuff, we just need you.

C) We're still gathering gift cards from national retailers for the opportunity drawing. Please send to me, any amount as long it's not going to expire.

E) We still need about 6 raffle baskets, call Daquiri Champion 850-582-7062.

Do you prefer a flowery and fluffy newsletter? If so, help us find an editor. In the meantime it's just me (with a lot of help making it happen by Camille Greeley).

In other news. Welcome new President of the Defuniak Springs Garden Club Mary Flack! She's going to be someone to watch. Check out this Innovative new program.

Stay Active, Stay Healthy!

Gardening is only one of the many ways to stay active and healthy. On November 1, 2023, DeFuniak Springs Garden Club hosted speaker Jennifer Edwards, Healthy Aging Education Coordinator for the West Florida Area Health Education Center (AHEC).

Jennifer brought information on free classes offered by AHEC’s Healthy Aging Department, available for seniors in Walton, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties. Of the five different classes available, she explained the benefits of each. She and two of her former students also provided a demonstration of “Tai Chi for Arthritis” (Dr. Paul Lam), one of the programs they offer. You can read more about healthy aging classes by clicking here. An application is included on the page and additional contact information is available.

Join us any time, the scheduled programs are on the DeFuniak Springs Garden Club website here. Or our District webpage: Dist 1/DeFuniak Springs
