The largest annual fundraiser that supports our Fremont Township Food Pantry is the car show at Grand Dominion. Over 90 volunteers work each year on this event and the proceeds go to our food pantry and local neighbors in need. Don't miss this event-it is terrific.  For each non-perishable food item, school supply, or dollar (check or cash) you donate you will receive one ticket for a chance to win the GRAND PRIZE...A $300 Visa Gift Card! The more you donate - the more chances you have to WIN!

This event is FREE of charge and fun for the whole family including: Contests, Raffle Prizes, children's activities and food and drink from local restaurants and more.
55 or Older? Visit Mississippi and Tennessee
Calling all residents 55 years and older! Our neighbors at Grand Dominion by Del Webb have planned a trip to Tunica, MS & Memphis, TN on Sunday, October 7 through Saturday, October 13. They have room for a few more on the bus and are inviting any interested adults who are 55 years and older to register! Enjoy group discount rates of $575/double occupancy; $800/single occupancy. National Night Out
The Mundelein Police Department is proud to celebrate the 35 th annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM in the Santa Maria Del Popolo parking lot (corner of Seymour and Courtland). All Mundelein residents are cordially invited to participate. This remarkable community program is designed to bring neighbors together, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and generate participation in anti-crime and drug programs.

St Mary's Road Detour
Metra will be closing St. Mary’s Road to through traffic from IL 137 to IL 176. The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8 and is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 20. The closure is necessary to improve ride quality at the existing railroad crossing. This project will include replacing the crossing surface, asphalt and concrete milling, repaving and striping.
Local traffic will be allowed from IL 137 south to Thornbury Lane/Greenbriar Drive and from IL 176 north to Minard Lane. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.
Detour Route: IL 137 to IL 21 to IL 176.

Yoga In The Garden

The Mundelein Arts Commission (MAC) is holding two writing contests: one for short stories and one for ten-minute playwriting. Anyone who lives or works in Lake County is eligible to enter. Listen To The Radio For Traffic Updates
Are you aware of the county radio station?Highway Advisory Radio 1620 AM communicates real time traffic information directly to Lake County motorists. Broadcast information includes location of delays due to crashes, construction and extreme traffic congestion to help motorists in planning their commute. 
Driver's License Emergency Contact Data Base
If you are an Illinois resident and have an Illinois driver's license, instruction permit and/or identification card, you are eligible to register your emergency contact information.

The Emergency Contact Database also allows you to enter basic medical information such as disabilities, medical conditions or special needs (i.e., drug allergies or taking certain prescription medication).

You may voluntarily enter one or two individuals to serve as your emergency contacts in the event you are involved in a traffic crash or have a medical emergency where you cannot communicate directly with law enforcement or emergency responders.

Referendum for Single Waste Hauler For Unincorporated Fremont Township Residents
At our July board meeting, the Fremont Board of Trustees voted to place a question on the November Ballot to allow the board to contract with a single waste hauler in unincorporated Fremont Township. If passed, this would apply only to residential areas.

The ballot question presented to voters would read as follows:

Shall the Township Board of Fremont Township, Lake County Illinois,                               
be authorized to exercise the powers of the “Township Refuse Collection 
and Disposal Act” as provided in Article 210 of the Township Code, 60 
ILCS 1/210-5,  et. seq ., to enter into a contract for the collection, disposal,                           
composting or recycling of garbage, refuse and ashes within the 
unincorporated area of the Township? 
Farmers Market
The Mundelein Farmers Market will be held on Tuesdays, June 12 through October 16, in the Santa Maria del Popolo Church parking lot on Highway Route 45. From June 12th - September 18th the market will be open from 3:00PM - 7:00PM and from September 25th - October 16th it will be open from 3:00PM - 6:00PM.
