Balanced Dog Grooming
The idea for Balanced Dog Grooming started while co-founder Torina Yamada was searching for a new apartment. Although the residences billed themselves as pet friendly, there were very few actual pet amenities.

As anyone who has tried to bathe their dog in a tub without a sprayer knows, it’s a soggy task, at best. Torina knew that many of her fellow residents were dealing with the same problem. Enlisting Anndrea Gutierrez, they began planning the best way to help residents of pet-friendly apartments keep their furry family members clean, healthy, and happy.

Torina and Anndrea immediately got to work making their dog grooming amenity dream into a sudsy, dog-loving reality. A little over a year later, Balanced Dog Grooming is a mobile business operating in 10 luxury apartment complexes (and counting) and a Marriott hotel.

There are many advantages to using the Balanced Dog including the on-site service so there is no need to travel to a groomer; no cages as it's only one dog groomed at a time which reduces pet stress, and your dog enjoys a relaxing experience along with natural treats!

Services include:
  • Blueberry facial
  • Teeth brushed / gums checked
  • Ears cleaned and checked
  • Shampoo and conditioner according to coat/skin type
  • Hand dry/warm air fluff brush out
  • Nails trimmed
  • Love
Service prices which can include a trim or full cut are available at varying prices depending on the type of fur/hair and the size of the dog.
Balanced Dog uses only the highest, quality organic sustainable products for your pet.

How the SBDC Helped Balanced Dog
"My advisor helped us with a two-year growth projection so I could more effectively manage my business! His help gave us insight on where our business is headed, allowing us to pivot in certain areas of the business.” -Torina Yamada, CEO, Balanced Dog Grooming
