Are you looking to promote an event or offering that your business is running? Promote it through the Visit Halton Hills Tourism Tuesday spotlight series!


Tourism Tuesday is designed to help highlight local tourism business offerings, such as seasonal happenings, events, and attractions throughout the Town of Halton Hills. The series will allow business owners the opportunity to increase visibility and brand awareness by collaborating with the Town of Halton Hills tourism brand, Visit Halton Hills. Spotlights will be featured on Visit Halton Hills digital platforms until November 26, 2024.

Starter Company Plus Program

New Fall Cohort

The Starter Company Plus program supports eligible entrepreneurs looking to start or expand their small businesses. The program provides training, mentoring, and an opportunity to pitch for a $5,000 grant.


To apply for the Starter Company Plus program, you must:


  • Be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Not be attending school or planning to return to school while enrolled in the program
  • Not be enrolled in any other government-funded employment program
  • Own, or plan to own, a business in Halton

Smart Commute Program

Halton Municipalities


The Smart Commute program provides tools and resources to support and incentivize cycling, walking, carpooling, public transit, and alternative working arrangements (e.g., remote work) as sustainable options for commuting.


Through this customized, year-round program, your workplace employees can commute more sustainably, reducing their parking demand and commuting costs, and helping you attract and retain key talent.


Smart Commute Halton Municipalities is offering a free one-year trial of the program to qualifying workplaces.

Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Competitiveness (AMIC) Fund

Application Deadline: September 26, 2024

The Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) stream is a funding stream for medium-size or smaller companies seeking to improve their competitiveness by investing in technology, equipment, reshoring manufacturing, or skills.


Types of Funding


Loans:

Up to 15% of eligible costs up to a max of $5 million (interest-free for the project period; interest applied during repayment) with potential to forgive 30% or up to $500,000 if targets are met.


Grants:

Only available for small companies (less than 100 FTEs) in rural locations or qualifying special projects, to a maximum of $500,000. A $1.5 million grant may be available in limited circumstances.

Calling all Business Owners in Halton Hills: Take the Halton Region 2024

 Employment Survey

Are you a business owner in Halton? Halton Region is conducting their annual Employment Survey. Your input will help monitor regional employment activities and trends and inform policy decisions to support future economic growth in Halton.


Here's what you need to know:

  • The survey will take about five minutes to complete.
  • The survey will be open until September 30, 2024.
  • Survey results will be reported through our annual Employment Survey Results report in 2025. We will also share the data with our Local Municipalities (the City of Burlington and the Towns of Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville).
  • Your responses will not be disclosed publicly, unless required to do so by law. Responses will be grouped together and no individual company will be identified.


Halton Region Survey Team:

The Region will also be reaching out to local business owners in-person, by phone or by email through a team of nine Regional Employment Surveyors. If you are unsure whether a surveyor is a Halton Region employee, please call 311 or 905-825-6000 to confirm. Alternatively, you can ask for the Employment Surveyor to contact you using a verified Halton email address.
