WHAT'S NEW

ORANGEVILLE RESIDENTS ARE READY TO WORK

Orangeville’s labour force consists of more than 19,000 engaged individuals. Strong participation and employment rates relative to the province are both positive indicators that our residents are looking for and finding work. Although our residents work across a variety of industries, Orangeville has larger labour concentrations in Manufacturing, Construction, and Retail Trade. This aligns well with the skills and educational levels attained by many of our workers. Compared to the province, Orangeville also has a younger population and more working-age residents (30 to 59 years). Combined, these characteristics create a stable and relevant workforce for many local businesses.

Facts about Orangeville’s Labour Force:

74.5% participation rate

71% employment rate

66% aged 15 to 64 years

29% have college degrees

BUSINESS FEATURE

NEW BUSINESS: INDIAN FUSION FOOD FOR ALL!

The Twisted Indian is one of Orangeville’s newest restaurants. Located at 520 Alder Street, the new franchise location opened in August. The menu focuses on offering healthy options that feature Indian flavours and ingredients while accommodating the taste preferences of each customer. All the sauces are made from scratch, the spices are ground fresh, the meats are marinated daily, and every dish can be customized with the right amount of spice. The Twisted Indian aims to bring everyone to the table.

Money and Noor, the local restaurant owners, discovered this fusion Indian fast-food option and felt that there was a place for the franchise in Orangeville. Although the food is served quickly, time and care is taken when preparing each meal.

They want everyone to feel comfortable when ordering to ensure they enjoy their meals. As local business owners, they understand their community and are always looking for ways to get involved and contribute.
