Behm Pickleball Courts Closed For Repair
|
|
Unfortunately our Pickleball Courts at Behm Park sustained substantial damage during a wind storm last year. New fencing and stronger footings are being put in and the pickleball court is being repaired. We are going out to bid in April for the project and are hopeful it will be completed in June. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Lake County Board Burning Regulations for Unincorporated Lake County
|
|
The Lake County Board voted on March 9 to reinstate a temporary emergency ordinance effective through June 9, 2021, which allows open burning of landscape waste in unincorporated Lake County from sunrise to sunset only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The ordinance also permits open burning from sunrise to sunset on any day of the week if the burning occurs at least 500 feet from the nearest habitable structure.

Unincorporated Fremont Township Groot Customer Rates
|
|
If you live in unincorporated Fremont Township and Groot is your waste hauler, there will be a slight increase in price each April. See the new rate in the chart below. Remember you do have one large item that you can put out each week. For specific questions on items, please call Groot at 847 693-2700. Just a reminder that your electronic recycling at your curb is the second Friday of the month and you must call to arrange for the service.

Have You Registered For the Vaccine?

Register to get notified of appointment availability in the county’s AllVax system. Check the box to give your consent for the Health Department to securely share your registration information with local vaccination partners. This will give you more options for receiving an appointment at partnering community vaccination sites that open as vaccine supply increases. Once registered, you can log in to your Allvax account any time to verify and/or update your information.

Early Voting Starts March 22
|

Fremont Township will again be your early voting location for the April election. This election you have local government offices on the ballot. To view your ballot or order a ballot by mail click here and enter your information.
Early Voting Hours at Fremont Township, 22385 Route 60, Mundelein are in the lower level around the back of the building:
March 22 - April 3
Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Vocational Scholarships Available
|
|
The Mundelein/Vernon Hills Rotary Club has $1,500 vocational scholarships available for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the "trades" (electrical, plumbing, cosmetology, HVAC, auto mechanics) which does not require a bachelors degree. These funds are for tuition only and can be used at community colleges, trade schools, certificate programs, etc. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Anyone interested will need to submit an application, along with at least one letter of reference by April 1, 2021. Candidates will be interviewed by members of the Mundelein/Vernon Hills Club and if successful will be scheduled for a second interview with Rotary members of several Clubs. Senior Assessment Freeze Information
|
|
Fremont Assessor, Joe Herchenbach is reminding Fremont Township Property owners age 65 and older who have total household incomes of $65,000 or less to apply for the Senior Citizen’s Assessment Freeze. While applications were not required for this program in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, applications WILL BE REQUIRED in 2021. All applications must be submitted online by July 31, 2021 through the Chief County Assessment Office Smart E-Filing Portal. Please contact the office at 847 223-2846 if you need assistance. This not apply to Saddlebrook residents.

Animal Shelters in Need of Bedding and Towels
|
|
The local animal shelters are in need of sheets, towels, small throw rugs and blankets. There is a bin on our front porch at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein, if you have any old bedding you would like to donate. No pillows! The donations get distributed to local shelters. We also accept leashes, collars, toys, pet food etc. If you have other items, please put them in our textile bin in the parking lot. Click here to see what we accept.

We are able to notarize your documents at Fremont Township. Please call the office at 847 223-2847 to make sure the notary is in the office. There is no charge for this service.

We accept yarn in our office.
We accept eyeglasses and hearing aids in our office.
We accept American Flags in our office.
Our shoe bin is also on our front porch and we are accepting shoes to be recycled and reused. We recycled 1547 pounds of shoes last year.

Our door is locked so that we can maintain social distancing, but we are open. Our office is small and we are only allowing one resident in the building at a time. We have not closed during Covid. We continue to provide the vital services our residents need.
