When is the best time to visit Bhutan?
This is one of the most frequently asked question but the answer is not as simple as it should be.  Most visitors come to Bhutan during the prime festival season in March/April and in Oct/Nov, supposedly the best time to visit Bhutan. Too often there is too many visitors during this short period and the true charm of travelling Bhutan is lost. Merak & Sakten Trek: 
With each passing day, the trek is coming closer. And with the amount of emails we have been receiving, it transpires that the guests are as excited as we are. With addition of Ugen Tshering, our CEO on this trek to Merak & Sakten this October, it provides a new dimension to it all together. 

Wind Horse Ranch And Riding Club
Our Horse Riding product is at the final stage and only few strokes of brush are left to give final firm shape and to launch and propel. We are very excited about it and give us a profound sense of accomplishment as we are the pioneer in Bhutan in regards to Horse Riding products.

 

There is no dearth of hard works and researched being put in by our R & D team. You shall see it's being translated into new products in form of Burma and Mongolia products,which we will be showcasing in details in our forthcoming issue. Stay tuned!!!

Tashi Air inaugural International Flight on Oct 10, 2013
Thimphu;Bhutan: Private airline Tashi Air in the name of Bhutan Airlines released its international airfares and sold its first passenger ticket on Saturday.  The airline is planning to fly its first international flight between Paro and Bangkok, Thailand on October 10.
A one-way fare for Bhutanese and Indian nationals flying Paro to Bangkok will cost Nu 11,000, while a round trip is Nu 21,000.  <<< Read More>>>

Thimphu Bhutan: There has been revision of schedule in timing for the Flight KB 204 on 26 October 2013 from Paro to Delhi. The revised timing as follows:
Reporting               0830 Hrs
Departure              1030 Hrs
Arrival                   1235 Hrs
With Bhutan flights, it always helps to check one last, a day before you board !
 
Airbus A320 can safely operate at Paro, say experts
Bigger than Drukair's A319, the Tashi Air (Bhutan Airways) aircraft will fly with a reduced payload
There is no doubt among aviation professionals that Bhutan Airlines' Airbus A320 aircraft will be able to safely operate in and out of Paro airport.In response to some public concerns on whether the A320, which will be the largest aircraft to be used in Bhutan, can be safely operated at Paro airport, Bhutan Airlines CEO, David Young said he had no doubt that the A320 can operate from Paro with exactly the same margins of safety as the A319, which has been used at Paro since 2004. <<< Read More >>>

1st International Buddhist nun conference in Bhutan
Paro; Bhutan: The 1st International Buddhists Nuns Conference is dedicated to providing a platform for discussing roles and responsibilities of nuns in the post-modern world: exchange ideas and best practices around the world, inspire and empower the nuns, especially Bhutanese Nuns, in order to increase their informed and active participation in both their religious and civic life. Cleaning up the Thousand Lakes (Dagala) Trail
Thimphu,Bhutan; A team of 20 tourist guides and officials of the Bhutan Tourism corporation returned to Chamgang in Thimphu with 30 sacks of garbage collected from the six-day Dagala trekking route in Thimphu dzongkhag.The team began their campaign to clean the route from Genekha on August 12 and returned on August 17. <<< Read More >>>

World's highest airport to open this year
Tibet; The world's highest civilian airport, at 4,410m above sea level, is being built in Tibet by the Chinese government.The world's highest civilian airport is expected to open soon. Work began on the Daocheng Yading Airport, in the Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Sichuan, in June, according to China's Xinhua news agency. There will be one 4,200m runway and around 500,000 passengers are expected to pass through its gates annually, Xinhua said. <<Read More>>

 

Ladakh to host Fifth annual Drukpa Council

Ladakh, India: Hemis monastery in Ladakh, India will be once more the venue for annual Drukpa Kagyu linage's conference.  Enlightened yogis and accomplished Drukpa masters from Bhutan, India, Nepal, Tibet and other parts of the Himalaya along with some volunteers coming in to attend the fifth Annual Drukpa Council, (ADC) on August 29.ADC officials said that this year's ADC might probably be the last in Ladakh, which is the third in Ladhak after the first and second was held in Nepal.<<< Read More >>>
