New Baby Blanket Patterns!
|
We love fun and fast baby blanket patterns, so we were very excited when these adorable patterns showed up! 5 different patterns, all using garter stitch, all using Franca from Manos del Uruguay.
Franca is a Super Bulky (#6) yarn that is so soft and squishy it will soon be one of your favorites, assuming it's not already!
We put together some color kits, but you can always choose your own combinations.

It is a celebration when you get to craft with this new yarn from our friends at Trendsetter. Celebrate is 100% cotton with long stable fiber that is stranded to stay strong and soft. They dye the finished yarn with a main color and then stripes and streaks of accent colors that create a fun and unique fabric with every skein.
You get a lot of yardage on a ball of this DK weight (#3) yarn making it a great value.
Pavlova, from our friends at Trendsetter, is a cotton/viscose blend with some beautiful color changes throughout the skein. (As you likely know,Viscose is fiber derived from plants!)
It works up as a DK weight (#3) and it delightfully soft with lots of drape.
How to get a free shawlette pattern!
(Otter Cove Shawlette knit in Impress)
The Otter Cove Shawlette, an easy to knit piece designed by our own Kris Gregson, can be made from one ball of Pavlova, Celebrate, or Impress. (Impress shown in the picture).
Originally designed for three skeins of Serena from Manos del Uruguay (Kits available), the design really lends itself to these yarns with long color striping.
Buy a minimum of $40 of Pavlova, Celebrate, Impress, Serena, or an Otter Cove Shawlette Kit and you can get the Otter Cove Shawlette pattern for free!
HOW TO GET THE FREE PATTERN: After adding at least $40 of any combination of Celebrate, Pavlova, Impress, Serena, or an Otter Cove Shawlette Kit to your cart, add a copy of the Otter Cove Shawlette pattern to your cart and you'll be able to download the pattern for free!

This simple crochet cowl pattern can be made with almost any gauge yarn. We love it in DK, but change your hook size and the chain length and adapt it for any gauge yarn!
This pattern is great with most of the yarns in this email! If you want to make this, you'll want two skeins of Serena, or one of Trendsetter Impress, Pavlova, or Celebrate.

Still? Yes Still.
We assume this will take a bit, but we are talking with some wonderful folks that are looking to take this exciting step! Could that be you?
The time has come for the next chapter in our lives. We’re looking for the next owner of the Ball & Skein. Yes, the shop is for sale.
Don't expect huge changes right away. And yes, new yarn is still coming in. We're still here and committed to providing the same quality of service as always.

In 2009 we took a big chance and moved from our beloved neighborhood just outside Boston to run a yarn shop in a small town on the coast of California. It’s been an amazing experience, full of memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
We’re grateful for each and every one of you that have supported the shop for all these years and we hope the legacy of the Ball & Skein continues for many years to come. It’s been a great pleasure to be a part of one of the oldest, and we feel, most loved shops in the country.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in being a larger part of this history, please contact us at info@cambriayarn.com
Thank you one and all.
