BUILDING THE ORLANDO OF THE FUTURE
It’s no secret that Orlando and its surrounding neighborhoods are growing. But what you may not know is that Cristo Rey Orlando students will be a part of building up our community, literally.

This month we highlight construction and architecture partners who are working with Cristo Rey Orlando to provide employment opportunities to our students, believing the future of Orlando starts with the amazing students of today.

Wharton-Smith Construction Group was one of the first corporations to commit to hiring students and we are incredibly grateful for their visionary leadership who valued the mission of Cristo Rey. They are truly "building community with their hands and their hearts, " as their website says.

Scott Fote, CEO of RLF, knew that his company would be a part of the
Cristo Rey community because of the unique opportunities it gives students
even after graduation:

“We partnered with Cristo Rey to make a difference within our community. Being a part of Cristo Rey’s Corporate Work Study Program will allow us to introduce the professional field of architecture and engineering to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity. This experience will help prepare them for success in college and will hopefully lead to more talented individuals joining the A/E/C profession. We are looking forward to seeing our staff share their passion and help develop these young minds.”

The Collage Company President Rob Maphis also sees the tremendous potential in Cristo Rey students and its curriculum:

“We are passionate about strengthening our communities and we recognize that a well-prepared youth is crucial for our collective future. Cristo Rey’s approach of coupling quality education with valuable work experience is a significant step towards a productive society and aligns perfectly with our corporate mission.”

Building up people while building and designing structures is critical to our booming population growth in central Florida. Condev's website says it well:

"Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can."

As both our community and Cristo Rey Orlando grow, we are so excited to partner with these influential voices in the building, design, and construction industry:
Some Cristo Rey students who have worked within the A/C/E industry while in school were so inspired by the experience that they are pursuing it beyond graduation.
