Dear Families,

We had another wonderful week of learning at Bryden and Fairmount! It continues to amaze me how fast each week is going by.

On Wednesday, Tinker’s Creek Watershed visited the Fairmount Early Childhood Center to put on an Earth Day program. Students recently celebrated Earth Day and have been learning how our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive! Students learned a variety of ways to look after the environment so we can keep our planet clean and safe. Scroll down to see photos from the Earth Day program!

Classroom Spotlight: Ms. Stacey’s Pre-Kindergarten Class

Ms. Stacey's prekindergarten class has started a new Creative Curriculum study – the Music Study! Students have had fun using materials around the classroom to make music. The class has listened to various genres to see what they like best. Students look forward to creating their own instruments!

Missing Something? Please Check Bryden's Lost and Found

We know there are times when your child may leave a specific item of clothing around the school, which is then placed in the lost and found. In an effort to minimize the amount of items stored in the lost and found, we have reorganized the area to help students and families better see what is left behind. Please view the lost and found slides and visit the lost and found in the Bryden main lobby if you see one of your child’s belongings.

PTO Announcement: Staff Appreciation Week

We need your help in celebrating our outstanding Bison staff during the week of May 6-10. Please consider donating items or volunteering to help set up and decorate our schools for Staff Appreciation Week. Snacks and drinks will also be needed to celebrate all staff members. To get involved, please complete this sign-up form. All donated items must be dropped off between Friday, April 19, and Friday, May 3, at any of these homes:

Bryden United T-Shirt Orders for Fun Day

Bryden Fun Day is Friday, May 31! On that day, students will have an opportunity to participate in many fun games and activities courtesy of the PTO. One of our Bryden traditions is to have each grade level wear the same color Bryden United shirts. While it is not required for your family to purchase a shirt for your child, most of our families choose to do so. It is really fun to see the entire grade dressed in matching shirts and showing their Bryden pride. The shirts can also be worn throughout the year on spirit days.

If you choose to order a shirt, a charge for $5 will appear on your child's Infinite Campus account, which can be paid by credit card. The shirt will be delivered to the school and sent home with your child on May 29 so it can be worn to school for Fun Day on May 31.

Please complete the Bryden Fun Day Shirt form to order a shirt for your child OR to opt out of purchasing a shirt. We need to hear from everyone! Orders are due Friday, May 3.

Save the Date: Beachwood Schools K-12 Art Show

Mark your calendar for the Beachwood Schools K-12 Art Show, hosted in partnership with the Beachwood Arts Council. From May 1 - 28, the Beachwood Community Center will showcase the creativity of our talented students in kindergarten through high school. Join us for an opening reception on Wednesday, May 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature student musical performances. To get into the spirit, students are invited to color this coloring sheet designed by Beachwood Middle School art teacher Rachel Hartwig.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Bryden Elementary School

We are excited to invite families to join us for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Bryden Elementary School. This special event will take place on Tuesday, May 7, at 9:30 a.m. It marks a significant milestone for our district as we bring together preschool and elementary students, staff, and community members. The assembly will feature a school-wide song, kid-friendly speeches from the design team, and ceremonial sod turning to celebrate the official start of construction. A rain date is planned for Tuesday, May 21, at 9:30 a.m. Please come and celebrate this momentous occasion with us!

*Note: The assembly will take place outside in the bus loop area. Parking along Letchworth or Bryden Roads is advised, as the bus loop will not be available for parking.

Family Kindness Festival 2024

Rock out with kindness at the Family Kindness Festival! This free event, hosted by Senders Pediatrics on Sunday, May 5, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Beachwood High School, celebrates the theme "Kindness Rocks" with live music from Cleveland Keys Dueling Pianos, School of Rock House Band, Inlet Dance Studio, and Panorama Steel Drums. Meet inspiring students, engage with impactful nonprofits, create crafts for a cause, and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities. Learn more on the Family Kindness website!

Bryden Be H.E.A.R.D. Weekly Winners

Congratulations to our Bison Be H.E.A.R.D. ticket winners this week! All of our winners will be coming home with a new book they picked out from the Bison Book Machine!
