Message from the Principal |
Dear Families:
I hope all of you had a nice and relaxing spring break. It was lovely to be back together, learning alongside one another. We only have two months of school left, but we look forward to all the amazing learning opportunities our students will experience before the end of the school year.
As a reminder, our third quarter report cards will be posted today for Bryden. Please take time to log into the parent portal in Infinite Campus to view your child’s progress.
Additionally, we have two important upcoming events that will affect our school schedule next week. On Monday, April 8, all schools will be closed as Beachwood experiences the total solar eclipse. Furthermore, we will be closed on Wednesday, April 10 in observance of Eid al-Fitr.
Sincerely,
Ms. Arianna DeGeorge
Bryden/Fairmount Principal

Classroom Spotlight: Miss Wright’s Kindergarten Class
We have been putting a lot of effort into enhancing our writing skills in Room 123! As part of our how-to writing unit, we made “dirt dessert” and used the writing steps to sequence words, making the steps detailed so our readers could make dirt dessert, too! We continued talking about adding details in our writing by using WH words–what, when, where, and who–to expand our thinking. During our handwriting sessions, we practiced this technique with one of our beloved characters, Chicken Jane, from our favorite series of decodable videos. We applied our newly learned skills to our April bulletin board, “April Showers Bring May Flowers.” For this, we wrote about what we like to do on a rainy day and used WH words to provide more detail.

Beachwood Neurodiversity Family Network Hosts Caregiver Support Group
Join the Beachwood Neurodiversity Family Network for a support group discussion on Sunday, April 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Beachwood High School Community Room. We will go around and share our recent “highs” and “lows” as well as anything else you would like to talk about. All are welcome, whether or not you identify as a neurodivergent family. Due to the sensitivity of the topics that may be discussed, as well as privacy concerns, this meeting is intended for adults only. This meeting will be held in person, but note that our May support group will be held virtually. Light refreshments will be provided.
