Message from the Principal

Arianna DeGeorge

Dear Families,

This week, our first-grade students hosted a ‘Bring Someone Special to Music Class’ program for their friends and family. Thank you so much to all of our friends and family who were able to join the program and to our PTO for sponsoring a sweet treat for everyone to enjoy afterwards! An extra special thank you to Shelley McKenzie, Bryden’s music teacher, for creating such a wonderful event. It was lovely to see the smiling faces of our students as they showed off their musical talents to their family and friends!

Next week we will host parent-teacher conferences at Fairmount and Bryden. Fairmount will host conferences on Tuesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 21, from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. Bryden will host conferences on Thursday, March 21, from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. We look forward to seeing some of you next week!

Sincerely,

Ms. Arianna DeGeorge

Classroom Spotlight: Ms Haley’s Preschool Class

This month, Ms. Haley's class started the Creative Curriculum pet study. As a class, we explored the differences between pets and wild animals as well as the many ways we care for pets. We have enjoyed playing in our dramatic play center, which is now an animal shelter. Here, the students pretend to groom, feed, and care for our stuffed animal friends!

Classroom Spotlight: Ms. Karen's Preschool Class

We've been reading many books about pets and learning to differentiate between wild animals and pets. Students sorted pictures of wild animals and pets into a graph. In the blocks and Lego area, they constructed houses and playpens for their pets to live and play in. This week, we started a new project: creating pet rocks. On Thursday, students washed the rocks in preparation for painting them on Friday. We're looking forward to seeing the students' creativity come to life as they finish their pet rocks!
