Message from the Principal |
Dear Families:
Thank you to the City of Beachwood and the Beachwood Schools staff who led Monday's solar eclipse celebration. It was amazing to see so many families and friends participate in this special event. I loved hearing the reactions of our students during totality and the stories they shared at school about their experience!
Our students continue to work hard on building their stamina in reading and increasing their elaboration in writing. For example, our first-grade students have been focusing on poetry this month, learning about new describing words they can utilize in their writing. Our goal is for students to then transfer this new learning to their writing, using more details to allow their stories to come to life for the reader! I am so proud of how far students have grown in these areas!
Sincerely,
Ms. Arianna DeGeorge
Bryden/Fairmount Principal

Classroom Spotlight: Mrs. Nowak’s Physical Education Class
April is National Move More Month, and we have been working on that in Physical Education. We begin class by doing laps around the gym. Students have to move for three minutes, which is an increase from 2.5 minutes last month. There will be a “Spring Fun Run” at the end of April to see if they can do it! After running, we work on fitness moves and then go into fitness training. Students have been working on balancing, aerobic endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. We then head outside to do some “parkour” work on upper and lower body strength. As you can see, we are moving, moving, and moving! It has been so much fun! Ball skills are next on the agenda – just in time for spring!
