Academic Dates & Deadlines

October 1 through March 2: Priority Filing Period for 2023-24 FAFSA and CA Dream Act applications. If you want to be considered for financial aid (grants, scholarships, work study and loans) at CPP in 2023-24, you'll need to fill out one of the financial aid applications: the priority filing period deadline is March 2, 2023. Visit StudentAid.gov to submit the FAFSA or CSAC.ca.gov for the CA Dream Act application. Both applications require 2021 tax information (yours and/or your parent's) and CPP’s school code (001144). 


October 10: Winter and Spring 2023 Advising Period begins. Use the time before general registration begins on October 12 (for winter) and on October 19 (for spring) to talk to your academic advisor and get ready. Look out for more info from the Bronco Advising Center and the Registrar's Office, and take advantage of our Advising Month events.


October 12: Winter 2023 general registration begins. Winter intersession is a term that typically consists of highly-specialized courses in a 2-week or 4-week format. Look out for more information from the Registrar's Office or your department about specific course offerings. Please note that there is no federal or state financial aid specific to winter sessions.


October 17-18: Spring 2023 priority registration.


October 19: Spring 2023 general registration begins. The Registrar's Office will post your specific registration window soon: keep tabs on the Registration Window box in your BroncoDirect Student Center homepage.

Cal Poly Pomona's annual Pumpkin Fest tickets are now on sale! Come pick a pumpkin grown on the campus farm, enjoy a hayride, venture into our corn maze, and pet our farm animals! The event runs from October 1-30. Tickets and season passes are only available on the Pumpkin Festival website


Tech lending is available. The University Library is offering free technology lending to help support your educational journey. Students can borrow laptops, hotspots, headphones with microphones, HDMI cables and more from the library. To learn more, visit the Tech Lending Program website.


Listen to the Innovation Station podcast. CPP Innovation Station is the official podcast for the Innovation Incubator. Hosted by student assistant Alan Quan, CPP Innovation Station explores campus-wide initiatives like PolyX, digital badging, pop-up courses, and micro-internships. Listen on YouTube


Sign up as a mentor or mentee for Bronco Navigators. The one-year program matches first-year students with a fellow Bronco based on shared interests, backgrounds, academics, and professional aspirations. Mentors are available to help mentees with questions and connect them with important resources. Throughout Fall: Study Abroad 101. This is the first step for Broncos to Study Abroad! Learn about the types of programs, course pre-approval, how credit applies to your degree, Financial Aid & Scholarships, getting connected with a Global Ambassador, and more. Sessions are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at varying times. Check the details and register on MyBAR.

Throughout Fall: Group Fitness Classes. Tired of the treadmill? Join the Bronco community for a great workout in a group setting. Each class is designed and taught by certified instructors; our group fitness programs provide a variety of classes including mind and body, strength training, cardio, dance, and martial arts. September 29, October 4, 6 & 11: CPP Connect Planner Tabling. Stop by our table and learn how to access and set up your CPP Connect Planner! Learn more about our virtual and in-person workshops and win free CPP merch. September 29, October 6 & 13: Innovation BrewWorks Trivia Nights. Stop by the cafe and brewery for some trivia, beer, prizes, and pizza! BrewWorks will host a sports trivia night on September 29, internet and memes trivia on October 6, and books and literature trivia on October 13. September 29 and October 6: Mindful Broncos. Learn unique ways you can practice mindfulness in everyday life. This series of group sessions will be co-facilitated by a fitness professional and a CAPS counselor. The workshops are from 3 to 4 p.m. in the BRIC Studio A. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 30: Badminton Tournament. Ready to SERVE up some victory? Stop by the BRIC Courts for a Badminton Tournament from 1 to 3 p.m. Compete against others as a team or individually! Register on the ASI Portal.


September 30: Flick N' Float: Guardians of the Galaxy. Take a break from studying and de-stress by watching "Guardians of the Galaxy" with us! Bring a blanket and food, or grab a floatie and watch from the BRIC pool from 5 to 9 p.m.


October 4: Peru Summer Travel 2023 Info Session with the Department of English & Modern Languages. Want to visit Peru? Attend an information sessions about a Spring 2023 course that will take students to Peru next June! Information sessions begin at noon in Building 5, room 126, or via Zoom. Sign up here to receive updates and information about the trip.


October 4: Try-A-Trainer. Curious about working with a personal trainer to meet your fitness goals? Stop by the BRIC lobby from noon to 2 p.m. and try out a FREE 30-minute personal training session! Sessions run based on trainer availability. Register on the ASI Portal.


October 4: Class Pass Dash. Grab your Foothill Transit Bus Pass at the Games room in University Park from noon to 1 p.m. The event will have free food and drinks to celebrate National Rideshare Week! The TAP card offers unlimited bus rides all year long throughout 20 different cities.


October 4: Boulder League. The league is a team-based intramural sport that measures individual growth over a span of 4 weeks. Teams work together in groups of 2 to 5 to motivate each other and develop improvements on the wall in order to claim the title of Bouldering Intramural Champions. Stop by Bronco Peak from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to get your team set and start training!


October 4, 5 & 6: Free Flu Shots for Students. Stop by the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Minor for your free flu shot! Walk-ins are welcome and face masks are required. Get your shot on October 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., October 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or October 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit the Student Health and Wellness Services website.


October 5: Intro to Lead Climbing. Take your top-rope climbing experience to the next level at Intro to Lead Climbing! Learn about the specific mindset, movement, and technical skills required to climb in this style. Bronco Peak Blue Belt Access is required upon registration. The class is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bronco Peak. Register on the ASI Portal.


October 7: Beach Volleyball Tournament. Stop by the Outdoor Volleyball Court for a Beach Volleyball Tournament! The event is from 1 to 3 p.m. and only $25 in Bronco Bucks. Sign up on the ASI Portal.


October 8, 9, 15 & 16: Lifeguard Instructor Course. Ever wanted to become a certified lifeguard? This course will train and certify you to be a national Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED instructor. The certification is valid for two years and participants must attend all class sections, complete final skill scenarios, and pass the written exam for certification. October 11: CPP Connect Planner Workshop. Attend an in-person workshop to learn how to access and set up your Planner and ensure that you are ready to register for classes! The session is from noon to 1 p.m.at the University Library, room 2907. Check the details and register on MyBAR.


October 12: Healthy Habits: Mindfulness & Productivity. Learn how to overpower procrastination, decrease distractions, enhance problem-solving skills and ignite your motivation through mindfulness. The class is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the BRIC Studio E. Register on the ASI Portal.


October 12: Modern Fishing. Stop by this workshop to learn more about the world of fishing! Learn all the essentials for beginners such as necessary equipment, practicing knots, and casting techniques. No experience or equipment necessary to join.
