Academic Dates & Deadlines

Through March 2: Priority Filing Period for 2023-24 FAFSA and CA Dream Act applications. If you want to be considered for financial aid (grants, scholarships, work study and loans) at CPP in 2023-24, you'll need to fill out one of the financial aid applications: the priority filing period deadline is March 2, 2023. Visit StudentAid.gov to submit the FAFSA or CSAC.ca.gov for the CA Dream Act application. Both applications require 2021 tax information (yours and/or your parent's) and CPP’s school code (001144). 


Now: Spring 2023 general registration continues. The Registrar's Office has posted your specific registration window: watch our how-to video if you need a refresher on finding it in your Student Center.


Through October 31: Signup for Spring 2023 3 installments + down payment tuition plan open. Student Accounting & Cashiering Services offers an installment payment plan so you can pay your tuition/fees over several months. If you enroll early, you have more time and smaller payments. Learn more and sign up on the Student Accounting & Cashiering Services website.

Midterm season can be a tough time of year. You're not alone. Get connected with resources if you're struggling or need help. That includes Counseling & Psychological Services, the Broncos Care Center, YOU at CPP, and texting or calling 9-8-8 to speak to a crisis counselor.


October 28-30 is the last weekend of Cal Poly Pomona's annual Pumpkin Fest. Come pick a pumpkin grown on the campus farm, enjoy a hayride, venture into our corn maze, and pet our farm animals! Tickets and season passes are only available on the Pumpkin Festival website


Tech lending is available. The University Library is offering free technology lending to help support your educational journey. Students can borrow laptops, hotspots, headphones with microphones, HDMI cables and more from the library. To learn more, visit the Tech Lending Program website.


California Election Day. Early voting has started! Locations will be available in all counties in California prior to Election Day for you to vote. In addition to casting your ballot at these sites, you will be able to register to vote and get a replacement ballot, if necessary. You can also drop off your completed Vote-By-Mail ballot at any early voting location, no stamp needed! To learn more visit the Division of Student Affairs website.


Bronco Bookstore’s textbook department is closed Oct. 28. Students should plan ahead and pick up any course materials they still need by Thursday Oc. 27. The department will resume normal operations on Monday Oct. 31.

Throughout Fall: Study Abroad 101. This is the first step for Broncos to Study Abroad! Learn about the types of programs, course pre-approval, how credit applies to your degree, Financial Aid & Scholarships, getting connected with a Global Ambassador, and more. Sessions are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at varying times. Check the details and register on MyBAR.

Throughout Fall: Group Fitness Classes. Tired of the treadmill? Join the Bronco community for a great workout in a group setting. Each class is designed and taught by certified instructors; our group fitness programs provide a variety of classes including mind and body, strength training, cardio, dance, and martial arts. October 27: CPP Connect Planner Tabling. Stop by our table and learn how to access and set up your CPP Connect Planner! Learn more about our virtual and in-person workshops and win free CPP merch. Visit us at noon in University Park. Visit the Student Success Central website for more information.


October 27: Mindful Broncos. In a series of group sessions, learn unique ways you can practice mindfulness in everyday life. Each session will be co-facilitated by a fitness professional and a CAPS counselor. The workshop is from 3 to 4 p.m. in the BRIC Studio A. Register on the ASI Portal.


October 27: Scuba Stories. Want to hear some fun and interesting stories about scuba diving encounters? Stop by this event that will feature a Q & A session at the end of each story and the guest speaker will answer any diving questions you may have. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center. Register on the ASI Portal.


October 28: Jams and Eats. Rise and grind and don’t forget the most important meal of the day! Stop by for some music, free coffee, and breakfast items at University Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.


October 28: Bronco Fright Fest. Celebrate Halloween at this event that includes pumpkin painting, deciphering riddles, games, snacks and more! Stop by Bronco Commons from 2 to 4 p.m. for a SPOOK-tacular time! Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.


October 28: Kickball Tournament. Rally your friends and join us for some kickball! You can enter the tournament with a team of 5 to 7 individuals. The tournament is from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Activity Fields. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal. 


October 29: Boulderodeo. Chalk up and get ready for the return of the Adventures annual bouldering competition, Boulderodeo! Participate in either the open recreation division or competitive division from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Bronco Peak. First through third place will receive prizes for both divisions. Finalists of the competitive division will climb off for the title of Boulderado champion. Attendees can also participate in various activities, enjoy a catered meal and collect tickets for opportunity drawings. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal. 


November 2 & 9: Discover Scuba Diving. Have you ever wanted to try SCUBA, but without the commitments? For $10 and 2.5 hours you can see if scuba diving is for you by trying out the equipment and participating in fun underwater activities! All workshops are from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the BRIC pool. Register on the ASI Portal.


November 3: Rappelling 101. Get introduced to the basics of setting up a rappel and the motions involved in using rappelling to securely descend. After practicing on the ground level of the climbing suite, your newly acquired knowledge will be taken to new heights with an experiential rappel from the top of the Bronco Peak facilitated and protected by certified Adventures staff. Stop by from 2 to 4 p.m. in Bronco Peak.

November 4: Racquetball Tournament. Interested in Racquetball? Give us your best serve at the Racquetball Tournament in our singles bracket. Winners will receive a $25 Bronco Bucks gift card. The Tournament is from 1 to 3 p.m. in the BRIC racquetball courts. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal. 


November 4: Intro to Lead Climbing. Take your top-rope climbing experience to the next level at Intro to Lead Climbing! Learn about the specific mindset, movement, and technical skills required to climb in this style. Bronco Peak Blue Belt Access is required upon registration. The class is from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bronco Peak. register on the ASI Portal.


November 4: Día de Los Muertos Celebration. Join this celebration that honors loved ones that have passed away. it emphasizes death as an important part of the cycle of life. Stop by Bronco Commons from 4 to 7 p.m. Check the details and RSVP on myBAR. 


November 5 & 6: Water Safety Course. This certification is the gold standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors. Participants must attend all class sections, successfully complete the final skills scenarios, and pass the written exam for certification. Certification is not guaranteed. The course is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the BRIC pool in Studio A. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal. 


November 8: Try-A-Trainer. Curious about working with a personal trainer to meet your fitness goals? Stop by the BRIC lobby from noon to 2 p.m. and try out a personal training session for free for 30 minutes. Sessions will run based on trainer availability.


November 8: Election Day. Happy election day, Broncos! Did you know that there is a polling station located in the Bronco Student Center? There, you can cast your vote and drop off your ballots. Visit the BSC and tabling in University Parking from 7a.m. to 7p.m. Check the details on the ASI Portal. 


November 8: Veterans Day Observance. Cal Poly Pomona's Veterans Resource Center invites the campus community to attend its Veterans Day Observance ceremony from noon to 1 p.m. at the Recital Hall (Bldg. 24). The keynote speaker will be Vishal Amin who is the head of Microsoft Federal Security Solutions, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, CPP Alumnus, and a Presidential Scholar. Cal Poly Pomona's Wind Ensemble will perform and Staff Council will have a holiday card signing for troops serving overseas. Register on Eventbrite
