Academic Dates & Deadlines

November 11: Veterans Day. Classes will not be in session, and offices/departments (including the BRIC and University Library) will be closed. Centerpointe will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the 24 Hour Computer Lab will be open.


Through March 2: Priority Filing Period for 2023-24 FAFSA and CA Dream Act applications. If you want to be considered for financial aid (grants, scholarships, work study and loans) at CPP in 2023-24, you'll need to fill out one of the financial aid applications: the priority filing period deadline is March 2, 2023. Visit StudentAid.gov to submit the FAFSA or CSAC.ca.gov for the CA Dream Act application. Both applications require 2021 tax information (yours and/or your parent's) and CPP’s school code (001144). 


Through December 7: Spring 2023 general registration continues. If you have not yet registered or want to make changes to your schedule, register ASAP! Students joining CPP in Spring 2023 will register at Orientation.


Through November 30: Signup for Spring 2023 2 installments + down payment tuition plan open. Student Accounting & Cashiering Services offers an installment payment plan so you can pay your tuition/fees over several months. Tech lending is available. The University Library is offering free technology lending to help support your educational journey. Students can borrow laptops, hotspots, headphones with microphones, HDMI cables and more from the library. To learn more, visit the Tech Lending Program website.


Take the Dining Services survey. As part of Cal Poly Pomona Foundation's ongoing efforts to ensure that our Dining Services venues are exceeding your expectations, we are conducting a customer satisfaction survey. You may take the survey multiple times for different restaurants. Visit cppdining.com/survey to leave your feedback and for your chance to win some amazing prizes! The survey ends November 23 at 11:59 p.m.


Join the NeuroDiverse Student Alliance's meetings. The NDSA is a peer support group committed to recognizing and validating the unique experiences of students with disabilities. The NDSA meets to socialize, share neurodivergent student experiences and support each other. Bi-weekly meetings will continue through December 2, on Fridays from 1 to 2 p.m. RSVP for meetings on MyBAR.


Join the Undergraduate Journal of Ethics, Policy, and Social Justice (UJEPS). The journal, hosted by CPP Philosophy, is now accepting applications for associate editors. CPP undergraduates from any major are invited to apply. The application deadline is November 11. Read the inaugural issue and submit an application.

Throughout Fall: Study Abroad 101. This is the first step for Broncos to Study Abroad! Learn about the types of programs, course pre-approval, how credit applies to your degree, Financial Aid & Scholarships, getting connected with a Global Ambassador, and more. Sessions are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at varying times. Check the details and register on MyBAR.


Throughout Fall: Bronco Athletics home games. You get in for free with your Bronco ID card! Check out the schedule on the CPP Fest website


Throughout Fall: Group Fitness Classes. Tired of the treadmill? Join the Bronco community for a great workout in a group setting. Each class is designed and taught by certified instructors; our group fitness programs provide a variety of classes including mind and body, strength training, cardio, dance, and martial arts. View the schedule on the BRIC website. Register on the ASI Portal: registration will open 24 hours prior to the start of each class.


November 9: First-Gen on Tap! Stop by and celebrate First-Gen College Student Week at Innovation Brew Works from 5 to 9 p.m. Connect with other first-gen students, faculty and staff and learn how to join the mentorship program. The event will offer free food while supplies last. Proceeds from IBW purchases will go towards establishing a first-gen student scholarship. Be sure to mention you are with "I Am First" to help the fundraiser. Check the details and register on myBAR.


November 10: Reconstructing Thanksgiving. Join the Native American Student Center for this event as part of Native American Heritage Month. The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major. 


November 14: Cast Iron Cooking. Curious about cast iron cooking? This workshop will introduce you to the cast iron skillet: a versatile tool from campfire kitchen. Learn how to clean, maintain and cook a delicious meal with a cast iron. Stop by the BRIC poolside lounge from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for an outdoor camping-style cooking experience. November 15: Climb 'n' Stretch. Climbers don't overlook the importance of flexibility! Join Adventures and Fitness for a workshop that focuses on stretching just as much as climbing. Stop by from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bronco Peak and learn the importance of incorporating a warmup and cool down into your climbing routine. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.


November 15 & 16: Planner Workshops. It's not too late to work on your Planner for your longterm academic planning. November 15 is an in-person workshop from noon to 1 p.m. and November 16 is a virtual workshop from 2 to 3 p.m. Register on MyBAR (November 15 or November 16).


November 16: Movie Screening of The Last Brown Beret. The movie delivers a vivid portrait of who and what the Brown Berets were and what they tried to accomplish. There will be a Q&A with the director and others in the film after the screening. The screening is from 4 to 7 p.m. in the University Theatre and is free for CPP students with ID card. Register on Eventbrite.


November 16: Healthy Habits: Exercising Mind & Body. Progress begins with making small improvements! Join this workshop and learn how to implement the healthy habit of exercising the mind and body as a tool to positively impact your mental health, energy and daily life. The event is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the BRIC Studio E. Register on the ASI Portal.


November 17: Thanksgiving Lunch at Centerpointe. Lunch will include a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the sides and desserts. Lunch is $11.50 (or $10.50 if you use Bronco Bucks).


November 17: Nature & Wildlife Trivia at Innovation BrewWorks. Test your knowledge from 6 to 8 p.m.


November 17: Art of Meditation: Sensory Meditation. Take a moment to slow down and engage in mindfulness exercises to tap into your senses. The class will focus on using sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell during the meditation. Stop by the BRIC, Studio A from noon to 1 p.m. Register on the ASI Portal.


November 17: Mindful Broncos. In a series of group sessions, learn unique ways you can practice mindfulness in your everyday life. Each session will be co-facilitated by a fitness professional and a CAPS counselor. The workshop is from noon to 1 p.m. in the BRIC Studio A. Register on the ASI Portal.


November 17: Scuba Stories. Want to hear some fun and interesting stories about scuba diving encounters? Stop by this event that will feature a Q & A session at the end of each story and the guest speaker will answer any diving questions you may have. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. in Ursa Minor inside the Bronco Student Center. Register on the ASI Portal.


November 18: Swim Meet. Whether your competing solo or in a team, there are tons of events to compete in! Interact with fellow swimmers, hang out for some snacks, and make new friends. All skill levels are invited to join from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the BRIC Pool. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.


November 18: eSports Tournament ft. FIFA. Soccer fans and gamers are invited to join and play in this FIFA Tournament! The tournament will be a single player bracket with single elimination. The winner will receive a $25 Bronco Bucks gift card. Stop by from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Games Room inside the Bronco Student Center. Register on the ASI Portal.


November 19: CPR/FA/AED for the Lay Responder. American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/FA/AED is to teach those how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants.
