Academic Dates & Deadlines

March 25-31: Spring Break. Enjoy your time off, Broncos!


March 31: Cesar Chavez Day. Offices and departments will be offline and closed. The University Library, Bronco Student Center and BRIC will be closed.


March 27: Fall 2023 Advising Period begins. Now is the perfect time to use your CPP Connect Planner and meet with your academic advisor. If you're not sure who your advisor is, review the ways to find them on Student Success Center's advising directory. Priority registration is April 10-11, and general registration begins April 12.


Through May 7: Summer 2023 general registration. There are three session options for summer -- 2 5-week sessions and a 10-week session -- and you have a 12-unit enrollment limit. Find general info on the Summer website.

Announcements

Start a new club on campus. Students interested in starting a new club on campus must attend a New Club Workshop, which will be held on March 23. For more information visit the Student Engagement, Leadership and Success website.


The BRIC and BSC will have special Spring Break Hours. The BSC will only be open Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The BRIC will be open 3/25 and 3/26 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 3/27 to 3/30 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.


Donate to the Kids Closet Drive. For the month of March, collection bins will be available around campus to collect gently used or new kids sized clothing to help student parents in need. Undergarments and shoes are not accepted, unless in new packaging. Collection bins are located in the BRIC entry by Bronco Peak, BSC Lower lobby by the games room entry hallways, BSC near the C & E desk, Poly Pantry, CARE Center, Womxns Resource Center and Children's Center. Kids University registration now open. Do you have kids in grades K-6 and need time to study? Kids University has opened registration for Afterschool Camp Spring 2023 and Summer Camp 2023! Apply for the 2023-24 CPP College Corps cohort. College Corps is a new program from the Governor's Office and California Volunteers to help full-time undergraduate students pay for college, uniting students of different backgrounds with a common purpose. Fellows receive to up $10,000 for completing 450 hours of service within one academic year. For more information visit the College Corps website.

Pop-Up Course: “Lies, Damned Lies, and Politics: Confronting the Threats of Misinformation, Conspiracy, and Polarization." Back by popular demand, Innovation Incubator is excited to announce its pop-up course called "Lies, Damned Lies, and Politics: Confronting the Threats of Misinformation, Conspiracy, and Polarization” (CPU 1540). This course will tackle how to navigate media bias, the psychology of why people believe in misinformation and conspiracy, and the technologies and politics driving us apart. Sign up to become a Bronco Navigators Peer Mentor. The program enhances the college experience by connecting students one-on-one with a peer mentor. As a mentor, you'll help first-year students build networks and develop skills to become better professionals and leaders. To learn more about the program visit the Bronco Navigators website.

March 23: Mindful Broncos. In a series of group sessions, learn unique ways you can practice mindfulness in your everyday life. Each session will be co-facilitated by a fitness professional and a CAPS counselor. Sessions don't have to be attended in succession. The workshop is from 3 to 3:45 p.m. in the BRIC, Studio A. March 23: Lost & Found Auction and Thrift Shop. The auction and thrift shop is comprised of unclaimed items from the official Lost and Found on campus. Come early to University Park to get a sneak peek of what will be sold, you never know what items will be up for grabs! Don't forget to bring cash or stop by an ATM in the BSC. Limited quantities of free food and beverages will be available. The event is from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at University Park.


March 25-28: Spring Break in the Alpine. Rise and glide! Join us in hitting the slopes for an all-inclusive, four-day trip to Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, CA. Expect activities like skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and more! Transportation, equipment, food, and standard ski/snowboard rental is included. Completion of the Bronco Peak Climbing Wall orientation and Belay class (CWOBC) is required. Participation in this program involves a high level of physical exertion and skills. Check the details on the ASI Portal.


April 4: ASI Elections Mixer. Mix and mingle with the candidates for the 2023 ASI Elections! Stop by University Park from noon to 1 p.m. and get to know the candidates and their platforms to help you make an informed vote. Online voting takes place on April 10 at 7 a.m. to April 13 at 7 a.m. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.


April 4 & 11: PolyTransfer: CPP Planner Hang. Join Planner Peer Mentor and Transfer Student Serena to talk about your academic planning tools. This is a great opportunity if you have questions about meeting with an advisor, Planner info, transfer resources and more. We'll have snacks and info flyers! Stop by the PolyTransfer Lounge on the first floor of the SSB from 12:30 to 2 p.m.


April 5: ASI Elections: Senator Candidate Town Hall. Learn what the Senator candidates are advocating for and ask the questions you need answered at the Town Hall from noon to 1 p.m. at University Park. Online Voting takes place April 10 at 7 a.m. to April 13 at 7 a.m. Register on the ASI Portal.
