If you're a new Bronco, we're glad to introduce you to BroncoBytes: a student newsletter brought to you by the Bronco Advising Center. We'll send you reminders about important dates, announcements, events, and more during the school year.

Academic Dates & Deadlines

June 30: Summer 2023 first 5-week session ends. Find more information about academic dates on the Academic Calendar.


July 3-5: Finals for Summer 2023 first 5-week session. You'll see your grades in your Student Center beginning July 10.


July 4: Fourth of July Observance. CPP offices and departments will be closed and offline.


July 6: Summer 2023 Second 5-week session begins.


July 11: Add/Drop Period for Summer 2023 Second 5-week session ends.


July 15: Deadline for incoming students to submit final transcripts. Find more information for freshmen and transfer students on the Admissions website.


July 20: Fall 2023 fees due. You can find more information about Fall 2023 fees on the Student Accounting & Cashiering Services website and explore the monthly payment plane. This deadline does not apply to students receiving financial aid.

Announcements

The CPP Common Read has been selected for 2023-24. CPP's First Year Experience Committee has selected Heather McGhee's "The Sum of US: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together," for the annual Common Read program. Check the details on on the Common Read website.


Get a mentor through Bronco Navigators. The free peer mentorship program that can help you navigate CPP with the help of a current Bronco. You'll be matched with a current CPP student that has a similar background, interests and goals. Once you are matched, you'll both decide how you would like to communicate: either in-person, via email, text, phone or through a video call. Beware of phishing scams. Higher education is a frequent target of phishing attempts such as job and internship offers and requests for personal account information. Exercise diligence in preventing phishing attempts. Always verify the source before you click or respond. Visit the CPP IT website for more ways to keep your personal information safe.

Sign up for a pop-up course for Fall 2023. Learn how to confront misinformation, conspiracy theories and polarization in CPU 1540. The class is taught by a multidisciplinary teaching team and counts for GE Area E. Search for CPU 1540 on BroncoDirect. Find more info on the Innovation Incubator website.

Events

July 10, 12, 17, 19, 25, 27 & August 1: CPP Connect's Planner Transfer Workshops. Attention incoming transfer students: sign up for an upcoming planner workshop. Having your Planner up-to-date helps you stay organized on your academic planning, gives your advisor an idea of what you are thinking of taking and helps CPP measure course demand. Attend our online workshops in July and August. Check the details on the Student Success Central's website.


July 28 & August 11: NSF I-CORPS Summer 2023 Short Course. Join us for a FREE two-day virtual institute where participants work together to translate their research, products, start-ups, technology, or ideas into the marketplace. Plus, you'll learn how to qualify to apply to NSF National Innovation Network Team Program with up to $50,000 in funding. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 14. August 10: 9th Annual Creative Activities & Research Symposium (CARS). Hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Creative Activities and Research Symposium (CPP CARS) is a celebration of student investigation, exploration, and inquiry completed by CPP and community college students participating in summer research programs. Students can present the work they completed during the academic year and summer while they were a student at CPP.
