Academic Dates & Deadlines

Through May 7: Summer 2023 general registration. There are three session options for summer -- 2 5-week sessions and a 10-week session -- and you have a 12-unit enrollment limit. Find general info on the Summer website.


March 17: Deadline to apply for Spring 2023 graduation on BroncoDirect, and deadline to apply for Spring or Summer 2023 graduation and be eligible to participate in Commencement. March 27-31: Spring Break. You are so close!


March 27: Fall 2023 Advising Period begins. Now is the perfect time to use your CPP Connect Planner and meet with your academic advisor. If you're not sure who your advisor is, review the ways to find them on Student Success Center's advising directory. Priority registration is April 10-11, and general registration begins April 12.


Announcements

Help with #CPPGivingDay. Cal Poly Pomona's 10th annual day of giving is when our community comes together to raise critical funding to support scholarships, programs, teams, and other important causes. By leading a campaign on Giving Day, you can ignite support for your cause from the Bronco community of supporters. Submit an application or sign up to be an ambassador by attending a March 21 training.


Start a new club on campus. Students interested in starting a new club on campus must attend a New Club Workshop, which will be held on March 9, 16 and 23. For more information visit the Student Engagement, Leadership and Success website.


Donate to the Kids Closet Drive. For the month of March, collection bins will be available around campus to collect gently used or new kids sized clothing to help student parents in need. Undergarments and shoes are not accepted, unless in new packaging. Collection bins are located in theBRIC entry by Bronco Peak, BSC Lower lobby by the games room entry hallways, BSC near the C & E desk, Poly Pantry, CARE Center, Womxns Resource Center and Children's Center. Kids University registration now open. Do you have kids in grades K-6 and need time to study? Kids University has opened registration for Afterschool Camp Spring 2023 and Summer Camp 2023! Apply for the 2023-24 CPP College Corps cohort. College Corps is a new program from the Governor's Office and California Volunteers to help full-time undergraduate students pay for college, uniting students of different backgrounds with a common purpose. Fellows receive to up $10,000 for completing 450 hours of service within one academic year. For more information visit the College Corps website.


Sign up to become a Bronco Navigators Peer Mentor. The program enhances the college experience by connecting students one-on-one with a peer mentor. March 9: Life After Graduation: Earn a Teaching Credential. Are you a student who is unsure about what to do post-graduation? This virtual workshop is here to help! The session will cover topics like finance, job search, balancing life post-grad and the steps to take to earn a teaching credential. March 9 & 14: Discover Scuba Diving. Have you ever wanted to try SCUBA, but without the commitments? For $10 and 2.5 hours you can see if scuba diving is for you by trying out the equipment and participating in fun underwater activities! All equipment will be provided. The session is from 3 to 5 p.m. at the BRIC Pool. Register on the ASI Portal.


March 9: CPP Connect Planner Workshop. Having your Planner up-to-date helps you stay organized on your academic planning, gives your advisor an idea of what you are thinking of taking and helps CPP measure course demand. Attend our in-person workshop from noon to 1 p.m. at the University Library, building 15 room 2907. Register and check the details on myBAR.


March 9 & 16: Mindful Broncos. In a series of group sessions, learn unique ways you can practice mindfulness in your everyday life. Each session will be co-facilitated by a fitness professional and a CAPS counselor. Sessions don't have to be attended in succession. The workshop is from 3 to 3:45 p.m. in the BRIC, Studio A. March 16: Common Read 2023: FYE Showcase and Author Robin Wall Kimmerer Keynote. Want to see what students have been up to in their first year at CPP? Head to the PolyX FYE Showcase, where students in the FYE program will present a Signature Polytechnic Experience they completed. The event is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the University Recital Hall Patio and lunch will be served to attendees. Afterwards, join the Common Read Keynote where author Robin Wall Kimmerer will visit CPP virtually to talk about her book, "Braiding Sweetgrass." Participation is encouraged for faculty, staff and students who read the book or were in a First Year Experience course this academic year. You can join the talk in-person or on Zoom. March 10: eSports Tournament ft. Mario Kart. Join our eSports tournament for the ultimate Mario Kart championship title! Watch out for banana peels and race your way toward prizes. The tournament is from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Games Room. Register on the ASI Portal.


March 10: Fitness Orientation. Are you overwhelmed with all that the BRIC has to offer? Signup for a 45-minute fitness orientation with a fitness staff member that will inform you about the programs and services offered this semester. Orientations are held on a first-come, first-served basis. Stop by the first floor of the BRIC lobby from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to participate. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.


March 14: Try-A-Trainer. Curious about working with a personal trainer to meet your fitness goals? You can try-a-trainer and book a free personal training session for 30 minutes. Stop by the third floor of the BRIC from 4 to 6 p.m. Register on the ASI Portal.


March 14: Greek Week: Pi Day. How many digits of pi can you recall? Come test your knowledge, see what STEM clubs CPP offers, enjoy some fun math games and free pie while supplies last. The event is from noon to 1 p.m. at University Park. Check the details and register on the ASI Portal.

March 16: Try-It Scuba. Do you have SCUBA on your bucket list? Now is your chance to give SCUBA a try! The one-hour session will be at the BRIC pool with tons of activities from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Register on the ASI Portal.


March 16: Greek Week: Y2K Night. Stop by and jam out to music from popular boybands, enjoy some of your favorite childhood snacks and a customizable cereal bar! March 17: Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Are you ready to compete against your fellow Broncos in the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament? March 17: Greek Week: BroncoCon. Join us for our very first BroncoCon! Bond with your fellow Broncos over your favorite fandoms and meet a familiar voice from your childhood, guest speaker Tara Strong! Some of Tara's most iconic roles include: Bubbles in “The Powerpuff Girls,” Timmy Turner in “The Fairly OddParents,” Dil Pickles in “Rugrats,” Raven in “Teen Titans,” Ben in “Ben 10,” Toot Braunstein and Princess Clara in “Drawn Together,” Melody in “The Little Mermaid 2,” and Boh the Baby in the Oscar-winning classic “Spirited Away.”  The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. at the BSC. March 17: Outdoor Climbing Anchors. This hands-on instruction will broaden your skills in anchor climbing. Anchors are a crucial skill for multipitch climbs, traditional style climbs, and any climb that does not have preset anchor equipment. Introductory Top Rope experience is recommended. March 18 & 19: CPR/FA/AED for the Lay Responder. Prepare yourself how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. March 22: Healthy Habits: Mindfulness & Productivity. In this workshop you'll learn that mindfulness isn't just about attempting to stop thoughts from entering the brain, but instead about simply being aware when a thought has entered the mind and acknowledge it without judgement.
