Academic Dates & Deadlines

September 1: Deadline to pay Orientation fee for incoming students. 


September 5: Labor Day. Classes will not be in session, and offices/departments will be closed and offline.


Through September 8: Add/Drop Period. This is an optional registration window where you can adjust your schedule. You can add courses up to 18 units, or drop courses without receiving a W on your transcript.


September 9: Deadline to pay any Fall 2022 fee balance for students receiving financial aid. Your aid should disburse approximately 10 days before the first day of the term to pay your balance, as long as you are enrolled in the minimum units required for a full disbursement of the aid you receive. If you get there during Add/Drop Period, your financial aid will disburse in 24 hours. Contact Financial Aid & Scholarships or the Bronco Advising Center if you have any questions.


September 9: Deadline to opt out of Instant Access e-textbooks for Fall 2022. If you have an E-Books charge on your account balance, you are enrolled in a course that is offering Instant Access digital course materials. Find more info and the opt-out link here.

Get your Eduroam WiFi set up. If you haven't set up your campus WiFi yet, get connected: you can set it up wherever you have an internet connection. Use the setup wizard to get started.


Get around with Class Pass. Cal Poly Pomona has partnered with Foothill Transit to bring students the Class Pass—which means free and unlimited rides on Foothill Transit all semester long! Students can pick up a Class Pass by stopping by the Games Room, Etc. (Bldg. 35-1110), no appointment needed. Find more info on the Class Pass website. If you picked one up anytime over the last year, your current pass is still valid.

Throughout Fall: Study Abroad 101. This is the first step for Broncos to Study Abroad! Learn about the types of programs, course pre-approval, how credit applies to your degree, Financial Aid & Scholarships, getting connected with a Global Ambassador, and more. Sessions are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at varying times. Check the details and register on MyBAR.


Throughout Fall: Bronco Athletics home games. You get in for free with your Bronco ID card! Check out the schedule on the CPP Fest website


Throughout Fall: Group Fitness Classes. Tired of the treadmill? Join the Bronco community for a great workout in a group setting. Each class is designed and taught by certified instructors; our group fitness programs provide a variety of classes including mind and body, strength training, cardio, dance, and martial arts. View the schedule on the BRIC website. Register on the ASI Portal: registration will open 24 hours prior to the start of each class.


Throughout Fall: Frequent Fitness. If you participate in 24 or more fitness classes as part of the Frequent Fitness program this semester, you'll be eligible for an exclusive giveaway at the end of the semester. Prizes will be awarded to the 2 members with the most classes for the semester. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 1, 7 and 9: Discover SCUBA Diving. Have you ever wanted to try SCUBA, but without the commitments? For only $10, you can test out if scuba diving is for you, try our equipment and participate in fun underwater activities! All equipment will be provided. The workshops will be held at the BRIC Pool at varying times. Register on the ASI Portal


September 1: BEAT the Heat. Do you need to cool down from this summer weather? Come to University Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for food, drinks and hot weather essentials. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 2: Technique and Movement. This workshop is the first step for climbers interested in intentional movement while rock climbing. We will cover topics including balance, basic body positions, basic footwork, hand positions, and some of the jargon associated with climbing holds and movement. The workshop is from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the BRIC's Bronco Peak. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 2: Fall Kick Off. Start off your fall semester with a splash at the BRIC Pool. Join us for some tasty food and participate in some of our water and lawn games from 5 to 9 p.m. register on the ASI Portal.


September 6: Try-a-Trainer. Curious about working with a personal trainer to meet your fitness goals? You can now try out a personal training session for FREE for 30 minutes! Sessions will run based on trainer availability. No registration needed and the sessions are first come, first served in the BRIC Lobby from noon to 2 p.m.


September 6: Rappelling 101. This workshop will introduce the basics of setting up a rappel on the BRIC's Bronco Peak: you'll also get an experiential rappel from the top of the Bronco Peak facilitated and protected by certified Adventures staff. The workshop is from 2 to 4 p.m. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 8: TREE Mixer. As part of CPP Fest, the Centers for Transformation, Retention, Equity and Empowerment (TREE) is hosting a back-to-school mixer in the University Quad at 11:30 a.m. Learn more about each of the six Cultural Centers on campus, and enjoy free food, entertainment, and games. September 8: Bestie Social. Interested in making new friends this semester? Not sure where to start? Join us for our Bestie Social Saga where you’ll get to meet other students and make new besties through speed friending. The event is from noon to 1 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Minor. September 8: Intramural Sports 3 Point Shootout. Compete at our shootout to see who the ultimate 3 point champion is. The winner will receive a prize! This is also an opportunity to meet your future teammates or competitors for our upcoming intramural teams. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. at the BRIC Courts. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 8: Ask Me Anything Workshop. Do you want to build your network and learn how fellow Broncos got their first job after graduating? Join the CBA Alumni Chapter and get your chance to connect with CPP Alumni who are excited to speak with you and answer your career-related questions. This virtual workshop will be held at 6 p.m.: the Zoom link will be sent out 24-48 hours before start time. Register on Eventbrite.


September 9: Sources of Strength Peer Leader Training. Are you Interested in helping your fellow Broncos make connections and build community? Become a peer leader for Sources of Strength! The training will be held in the Bronco Student Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. RSVP on MyBAR.


September 9: Intro to Lead Climbing. Take your top-rope climbing experience to the next level! Learn about the specific mindset and risk management considerations required to climb in this style, along with strategies to avoid clipping mistakes, taking lead falls, and the basics of fall forces. Bronco Peak Blue Belt Access is required upon registration. The workshop is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the BRIC Bronco Peak. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 10: Farm to Pantry Project. Want to SQUEEZE in a little bit of volunteering this semester? LEMON tell you about an opportunity to collaborate with ASI, Lyle Center, and Dr. Aaron Fox from the Huntley College of Agriculture, to bring fresh produce to the Poly Pantry! WEED need your help with weeding, planting, and potentially harvesting fruit (if the tree fruit is ripe). All your help is BERRY much appreciated! The event is from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Lyle Center. Register on the ASI Portal.


September 14: Try-It SCUBA. Try out SCUBA at the BRIC Pool with tons of fun activities. You and your friends will have an activity session where you can try as much or as little as you want. The event is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Register on the ASI Portal


Healthy Habits: Stress & College Students. Is school one of your main stressors? We hear you! In this workshop, we will introduce basic components of identifying stressors and practicing solutions to ensure the best student experience you can have.
