A Message from Principal Dumar
|
Bradfield Families,
You may have noticed some new faces around Bradfield this week. Claire and David Rae took charge as the new Bradfield Principals and did an excellent job! These two Broncos worked tirelessly to ensure our building was safe and students were learning. From greeting students and parents, to meeting with HP Superintendent Dr. Rockwood, to observing students, to ensuring everyone has their materials for the upcoming Eclipse, they completed all their tasks for the day. They even had a little extra time to trim the lettuce in the Innovation Lab. I think they will definitely be in the running for the new Principal of Bradfield. Great job, Claire and David!

We also had an outstanding office crew take the lead on Thursday. Office Assistants, Penny Baldwin and Margie Bennett, Nurse Remy Iliff, SRO’s Sutton and Abbott Walker, and Head Engineer Anderson Evans kept Bradfield safe and running smoothly. Great job, team!
Congratulations to Fourth Grader Reese Rugg who won the HP Lit Fest for Bradfield Elementary. Third and Fourth grade students from all 5 elementary schools participated in this year’s HP Lit Fest. The judges selected 1 student from each elementary as the overall campus winner. It was easy to see why they selected Reese. She wrote a fantastic poem about all things beautiful. She shared so many personal things that represented beauty to her. Excellent job, Reese!

On April 8, a total solar eclipse will cross North and Central America creating a path of totality. Teachers have been busy planning educational experiences for our students. PreK-4th graders will experience this phenomenon of totality around 1:40 PM on the Bradfield Field. The District has purchased glasses for all students and staff. We can’t wait!
Observations by Grade
PreK: 1:20-1:50PM
Kindergarten: 1:20-1:50PM
1st: 1:15-2:00PM
2nd: 1:10-2:00PM
3rd: 12:55-2:00PM
4th: 12:55-2:00PM
Due to this once in a lifetime experience, the Bradfield Office will be closed from 1:25 until 1:50 on Monday. If you need to check out your student for an appointment, please note, ALL staff members will be on the Sport Court and Field with our students. Please plan accordingly!

We would like to wish our 3rd and 4th grade students the best of luck this Wednesday as they take the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, commonly referred to as STAAR. Our students and teachers have been working hard to ensure they will excel on the state standards that will be tested. Due to testing protocol, all 3rd and 4th grade students will need to bring their lunch and will eat in their classrooms. No 3rd or 4th grade visitors or volunteers will be allowed in the building that day.
|
Bring your own lunch or purchase a sack lunch from the Bronco Café. Sack lunches will include a warm Chick-Fil-A sandwich, chips, cookie, and bottled water. Sack lunches available for $8.50 via Skyward account.
Lunch Schedule by Grade
- Bring a picnic blanket.
- Families will be seated by class on the field.
- Meet your child on the Sports Court.
- If you have more than one student, plan to stay for each child’s designated lunch time!
- Parents are encouraged to send their children back to class to experience a full day of learning!
In the event of inclement weather, students will eat in the cafeteria. Sadly, parents will not be permitted indoors.

In accordance with state law and Board policy EHAA(LOCAL), HPISD provides instruction relating to reproduction, sexual health, and the prevention of child abuse, family violence, dating violence, and human trafficking. As the law requires, the district must obtain written consent before we can provide a student with instruction on these topics. Instruction is scheduled to occur on all campuses between April 22 - May 10.

A Message from our PTA President, Laura McCallan

It was another short but busy week at Bradfield as we are gearing up for some of our final events of the year.
I’d like to thank Corrie Rae & Jourdy Wallace for helping with Eclipse planning to prepare us for this very exciting event coming up tomorrow! Thank you to our room moms and parent volunteers for offering to help out as well. It’s going to be a very special and exciting experience for our students!
I’d also like to take a moment to thank our two Supply Shop “dream teams”. Liz Lynch, Marjon Henderson & Loren Heller, Supply Shop Merchandise Chairs, have been working hard all year to stock our Supply Shop with items for our students to purchase while they work on math and change-making skills. Be sure to stop by soon to check out some cool new Bradfield items! I’d also like to thank Laura Riise & Lauren Macatee, our Supply Shop Volunteer Coordinators, for working hard to make sure we have volunteers to run the shop in the mornings. Thank you, ladies!
