A Message from Principal Dumar

Bradfield Families,

The KC Club (Kindness and Compassion Club) promotes kindness and compassion at Bradfield Elementary. It is a leadership opportunity for 4th graders to serve as role models by demonstrating kindness, respect, empathy and all of the “PurposeFULL People” traits we emphasize throughout the year.  This year, KC Club led the holiday food drive and Change for Children’s to serve and support our community.

Bradfield KC Club partnered with the Highland Park High School Student Council, to promote our district-wide campaign, Project Respect.  Our very own HPHS students met with our Broncos each month.  Project Respect focused on developing student leaders by helping them realize their potential to be a leader, as well as motivating and encouraging students to act on their strengths as leaders. The final meeting was held this week.

A special thank you to Mrs. Adams, Bradfield Counselor, for leading KC Club and leading by example!

Thank you to our precious PreK moms Lena Alley, Kelly Diehl and Anna Jackson for hosting a staff luncheon last week. The sandwiches, pasta salad and dessert were scrumptious! Thank you, ladies, for spoiling us!!

I encourage you to check out this week’s Broncoland photos.

I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!

We would like to wish our 3rd and 4th grade students the best of luck this Tuesday as they take the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, commonly referred to as STAAR. Our students and teachers have been working hard to ensure they will excel on the state standards that will be tested. Due to testing protocol, all 3rd and 4th grade students will need to bring their lunch and will eat in their classrooms. No 3rd or 4th grade visitors or volunteers will be allowed in the building that day.

3rd & 4th Grade students may park their bike/scooter on the field between 7:30-8AM. Bikes and scooters must be WALKED to the field, helmets should stay with bike/scooter (hanging on handlebars). Bike parking is designated by classroom, signs with teachers names will be on the field. Gates to the field will be LOCKED at 8:15AM and re-opened at 3PM.

Helmets are required.

Parents are welcome to watch their kids.

Carpool lane closed from 8 to 10:45AM.

A Message from our PTA President, Laura McCallan

I can’t believe that we are rounding the corner to our last month at Bradfield for the 23-24 school year. I know everybody is busy gearing up for Summer!

I’d like to take a moment to thank our 4th Grade Programming Chairs: Allison Dickey, Jess Rugg, Beth Peters, Merry Wyatt, Libby Mason & Stacy Hicks. These moms have worked hard all year to make it a fun and memorable last year at Bradfield for all of our 4th grade students. May is a big month for this crew with plans for Graduation and activities for these students. I appreciate all their hard work and dedication this year. Also, thank you to Maggie Apple & Erin Fuge who helped this crew with the 4th Grade Display Case this week!

I’d also like to thank Maggie Apple for her commitment to communications through our Instagram account this year. Maggie is always willing to whip up a post that is not just informative, but also cute and fun so we can keep all our families informed about what’s happening here at Bradfield. Thank you, Maggie!

Go Broncos!
