A Message from Principal Dumar

Hello Bradfield Families!

Love was in the air this week. It is always such a sweet time in the elementary world when Valentine’s Day rolls around. I remember selecting the perfect card for each of my classmates and teachers and I have no doubt your children enjoyed doing the same.

Get ready for the Bradfield Auction! Please check out the information below and look for reminders this week about the Live Auction. As you know, the funds generated from this event support many student experiences, student/staff instructional resources and staff salaries. This would not be possible without your generous support. I look forward to seeing you Saturday night as we celebrate DALLAS!

The writer of the week was Kindergartner, Edie Baker, in Ms. Sweaney’s class. Her assignment was to write a how to piece. She nailed it when she described how to play soccer. She included the key components and materials one needs to get the job done right. Great job, Edie!

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest sympathy to the Barnett and Filgo families with the loss of Michael Barnett. He has not only played a key role as a Bradfield dad for the past 6 years, but was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed.

I encourage you to check out the Broncoland spotlight below. This week’s highlights include: Science Lab.

I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!

WE ARE BRADFIELD BOLD!

HPISD will use the Monday, April 10 bad weather make-up day on the academic calendar to make up one day of missed instructional time lost during the recent winter storm.

In total, the district missed four instructional days from Tuesday, Jan. 31 through Friday, Feb. 3 due to icy road conditions. To address the missed instructional days, HPISD has done the following:

  • utilized minutes banked into the academic calendar to cover one missed day
  • made use of the April 10 bad weather make-up day to cover a second day
  • submitted a Missed Instructional Days Waiver request to TEA to waive the last two missed days
  •

Welcome, Class of 2036!

Each of the five HPISD elementary schools will open its doors at 9 a.m. Feb. 21 to families of incoming kindergarten students for the district’s annual Kindergarten Round-Up information meetings. These sessions provide incoming families with general information about the school, volunteer opportunities for parents and helpful hints for enrolling students for a successful start in kindergarten.

PTA News
A Message from our PTA President, Kate Cutshall

On behalf of the PTA and the Bradfield Community, I want to express our deepest condolences to the Barnett and Filgo families. You all are in our thoughts, and we pray for peace in the coming days and weeks ahead. In difficult times like these, we should all be especially grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our Bronco friends and families.

Please join me in thanking the following volunteers for keeping Bradfield BOLD:

  • Giddy Up, Broncos! We hope to see you for our biggest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, February 25th! Our Auction Co-Chairs, Jessica Bolander, Abby Evans, Marjon Henderson & Ashley Nowak have been working around the clock to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever before! As many of you know, nearly 70% of our tax dollars are recaptured by the State of Texas. It is up to us as parents to bridge that gap! With your support, the funds raised directly impact Bradfield, and provides the necessary means to keep many of our programs going such as Spanish, salary support, technology and continuing education for our teachers. Dust off your boots and we’ll see you for a BIG night of fun!

Fondly,

Kate Cutshall
