A Message from Principal Dumar

Bradfield Families,

This week begins Inclusive Schools Week throughout Texas and our District. This year’s theme, You Choose to Include/Kindness Matters will kick off during BBTV as our Counselor, Mrs. Adams, reads books about spreading kindness which is truly the heart of our community! A special thank you to Bradfield’s Special Education Coordinator, Cynthia Marlow, for working with her team to plan daily activities focusing on inclusion and kindness. Be on the lookout for over 550 kindness rocks to be spread throughout our community. I would also like to thank parent volunteers, Corrie Rae, Katie Patterson, Rachel Reed and Laura McCallan for painting the base coat of over 550 rocks so our Broncos will be ready to create their own kindness rock.

Thank you to the Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association (ABPA) for continuing to support Armstrong and Bradfield Elementary schools. The 24th annual ABPA Homes for the Holidays Home Tour was a well attended event and has become a tradition for many of our families during the holiday season. Over the past 20 plus years, ABPA has raised more than one million dollars for the Kindergarten and First grade programs at Armstrong and Bradfield. Thanks to families who opened their exquisite homes, I have no doubt this year’s gift will be as generous as years past.

A special thank you to the following families who showcased their beautiful homes during the tour; Bradfield families, Cam and Anabel Atkinson and Chris and Erika Burton, as well as Christopher and Dacein Barry and Charlie and Kerri Gale

Also a warm thank you to the ABPA Home Tour Committee Cindy Booker, Megan Morrow, Hayley Eckert, Krystle Womack, Rachel Huff, Charlotte Hunt, Landen Tillery, and Lisa Shaddock for the hard work and dedication to make this year a huge success!

Thank you to Bradfield mom, Brooke Ryan, for the extraordinary showcase in the front hallway. Her talent and eye for detail goes without saying. Also, a special, thank you to her fourth grade son, David, who came up with the catchy sayings. Who would not want to attend “John S. Gingerfield” especially during the holiday season?

If your children have lost it, we have found it! Please follow the lead of these two responsible moms and check out the Lost and Found before the items are donated this Friday, December 8th. Also, a reminder to write your children’s names inside their coats, jackets, and personal items.

Last week’s Writer of the Week was second grader, Mary Liz Baird, from Mrs. Jones’ class. Her assignment was to write a How to Informational book where Mary Liz chose to write about How to Get Ready for School. She provided important steps, from a second graders point of view, about everything you would need to have a successful day at school. Extra special tips were to make sure you don’t forget to pack your lunch box and say good-bye to your family. Thank you, Mary Liz, for sharing many important steps on how to get ready for school.

I encourage you to check out this week’s Broncoland photos.

I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!
