A Message from Principal Dumar

Hello Bradfield Families!

Thank you for supporting our Bradfield Library and your child’s reading life by shopping at the Feelin’ Groovy Scholastic Book Fair! It was a smashing success with more than $29,000 in sales. All proceeds from the Book Fair are used to purchase new books, supplies and subscriptions for your Bradfield Library. Thank you to Jami Nelson & Tracy Walder for chairing the book fair and adding so many fun, groovy activities to get our Broncos excited, and to all the parents who volunteered to work at the fair.

If your child still has money in their eWallet, or if you missed the book fair, you can still shop the online fair until October 13th by clicking here.

TECH SPOTLIGHT

Second Grade teacher, Ms. Knight is October’s Tech Spotlight of the week. She is integrating place value and different notation forms with Explain Everything. Students are demonstrating their knowledge with videos using text, drawing tools, and narration. Ms. Knight’s second grade class continues to apply their tech skills by teaching Ms. Morgan’s first grade class how to use Explain Everything to demonstrate ELA reading skills.  Way to go, Ms. Knight!

The staff enjoyed a special luncheon from Chocolate Angel thanks to our first grade mothers who hosted the event. Thank you, Rachel Reed, Catherine Evans, Katie Patterson, Katie Samler. Sarah Conway, Brittani Frankowiak, Angie Shank & Becca Thompson for making us feel appreciated.

The writer of the week was third grader, Millie Peters, from Mrs. Mill’s class. Her assignment was to write a persuasive writing piece using opinions. Millie drew from her own experiences of spending time in Crested Butte, Colorado. Her opinions about the outstanding restaurants and fun activities have peaked my interest as I plan my next vacation. Wonderful job, Millie!

I encourage you to check out the Broncoland spotlight below. Each week, I highlight student learning experiences in their classrooms and around the building. You never know when you may catch a glimpse of your child in action.

Enjoy your 3 day weekend. I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!

A Message from our PTA President, Kate Cutshall

Thank you, Parents, for hanging in with us while we had a very busy week at Bradfield!

Please join me in thanking the following volunteers for keeping Bradfield BOLD:

  • Book Fair Chairs, Jami Nelson & Tracy Walder, went above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you so much for putting on a great week for our kids! Peace, Love and Books!

  • Thank you, Liz Lynch & Sara McCoy, who worked hard to fill our Supply Shop with many fun items! The shop is a fantastic way for the kids to make independent choices and learn about money. We are open each Tuesday and Friday mornings before school!

  • Thank you to Jessica Perno for coordinating our community outreach project by collecting costumes for Annie’s Place at Parkland Hospital. We appreciate everyone that contributed. Our guidance counselor, Mrs. Adams, will continue to accept costumes in her office until October 18th.

  • And finally, thank you so much to Jennifer Morton & Genevieve Short. These two ladies worked with our picture day photographers to coordinate the set up and made sure your kiddos were photo ready!

Fondly,

Kate Cutshall

The PTA will be gifting treats to our five crossing guards!

Please give a high five and say THANK YOU to Annetta, David, Donna, Janice & JT as you walk by!
